The kids went to school for 2 whole days this week, which was the first week back after vacation. We had Thursday off because it was snowing all day. We have Friday off because the wind is terrible and all the shoveling I did today was useless. Then it’s the weekend again. Hopefully by Sunday we can go back to our regularly scheduled activities because this house is starting to feel REALLY small. I might have ordered 12 different kinds of organizing storage container today because if I have to be trapped inside all the time at least it’s going to be in a clean house.
Here is some of what we did today.

We had 6 inches of snow on Saturday, which was beautiful but incredibly inconvenient. It ruined my long-planned styled photo shoot with a whole bunch of very cold children, and then the roads were terrifying when Caroline and I attended the Nutcracker. I hate driving in the snow, even after a decade in New England. But we made it and had a lovely time. The boys stayed home with a babysitter – Evan was so excited to “get babysitted”, for some reason he thinks that’s the coolest – and she reported they were great. I guess I’ll know if she’s telling the truth if the next time I text her she’s unavailable forever. The roads were clear and the snow was still on the trees on Sunday, so we went back out to get a photo for the back of the Christmas card. The kids are hoping this is the start of a very snowy winter, which I am totally ok with as long as from now on I don’t have to leave the house during the storm.
Here’s an update in photos of what we’ve been up to in the past few weeks.
Poor Finnegan had his regular check-up this week, and what I thought was just a baby cold had turned into a double ear infection. You’d think a baby in that much pain would complain, but he’s just been a boogery ball of sunshine (except when you put him outside in the snow)(he haaaates the snow).
Caroline does not hate the snow.

Not that 333 actually represents anything especially meaningful, but it does seem like a ridiculously high number of weeks to have been doing this. When I started I only had ONE KID.
Sunday:
LAND SHARK
Just a few more sink baths before he’s big enough for the real tub
Adjusting my camera, my Sigma Art is still on point
Monday:
And THIS is the grocery store I just finished terrorizing!
Make-up storage
I am officially just an armrest
Tuesday:
Snow Day waffle assistants
Doing some journaling
My husband thinks he’s funny or something
Wednesday:
Not quite spring yet
Library visit
She would have just stayed until they threw her out
Thursday:
Adorable
Linc pretending he’s a big kid
Ignoring the mess because sometimes you just have to
Friday:
Find the hidden toddler
Babies love babies
Linc took 800 photos just like this one
Saturday:
My spring banner is missing it’s flowers. Because children.
Sittin’ baby sits now
Cards and taco dip
Since today is only Friday, I’m now caught up on my weeks. I’ve started putting together stuff about our Disney trip already (the one we aren’t even going on for several more months) because I don’t want to forget all the sites I’ve found super helpful while we’re planning. But reading other people’s vacation recaps is my new favorite thing, so if you have any – or follow someone who has been to Disney and written about it – drop me a link. I could seriously read about standing in line to meet Anna and Elsa all day.

The other night E and I spent a solid 5 minutes trying to figure out why our DVR wasn’t recording SNL before we realized it was Friday. That’s what happens when you get 20 inches of snow and a bunch of days off. Snow days are both really relaxing (no lunches to pack! no schedules!) and really, really stressful (so many children all home and trapped inside for most of the day, so much hassle to get them dressed just to go out for 10 minutes, SO MUCH FIGHTING).
But mostly my children love the snow and just want to spend as much time playing in it as possible. And eating it. They’re all obsessed with eating snow.
This hill is walking distance from our house, behind what used to be an elementary school but now is just an empty field. It’s an easy walk, except if you’re carrying a 2-year-old through unbroken snow almost as tall as he is. Then it’s exhausting. Also the 2-year-old can’t climb back up the hill when he sleds down, so I have to carry him back up every time. I talked him into swinging for a while instead. But the big kids slept really well that night.
In case you’re wondering, that house at the top of the hill is the Greene Mansion, but it was turned into condos a long time ago so it’s not a mansion anymore. I can’t find anything online about it, but it’s definitely in the same walking tour pamphlet as my house. I should go to town hall and get more of those.

I realized that although I managed to blog for real last week I forgot my iPhone post. This is the week before Christmas.
Sunday:
The American Girl Store: where tiny pianos are a necessity
Caroline + Kit
Then Kit came to Target and insisted on a nutcracker
Monday:
Good morning, Kylo.
Big boy haircut makes him look SO BIG
I might have a matching jams problem
Tuesday:
Dad pro
Frozen puddles
More shopping with Caroline + Kit
Wednesday:
3 am Christmas tree makes getting up with the baby not so bad
She’ll read to anyone who will hold still
The kids REALLY REALLY love filters
Thursday:
Who doesn’t want to go to Target 3 days before Christmas?
That explains why that drawer is broken (and also why our furniture is bolted to the wall)
Bumpa is Linc’s hero
Friday:
BabyGuy Box swag!
Watching our favorite Christmas movie
BITING THINGS
Saturday:
Mormor needed a photo in the shirts she bought
