Vacation is over as of bedtime tonight, so back to regular life we go. But if ever my children say we never did anything fun with them, I have tons of photographic proof their childhoods were MAGICAL.
Sunday:
Linc felt he needed a snack JUST as the tide started coming in.
Boogie boarding
The Russian judge only gave them a 8.7
Monday:
It’s Pims O’Clock – time for Pims Cups and cards
He likes the beach house
I love the beach house
Tuesday:
Good bye bunk room
Good bye pluff mud
HELLO LAKE HOUSE
Wednesday:
Topless at Walmart, because we’re super classy
Drinking and boating (when you’re 4.5)
Drinking and boating (when you’re 1)
Thursday:
Water fun
Bucket head
Poor baby has no idea he isn’t a big kid who can kayak
Friday:
Linc loves the ugly couch
On your anniversary you don’t have to split a dessert
Happy 11 years to us
Saturday:
How many guys does it take to deflate an air mattress?
It’s a good thing he was wrapped or he would have climbed right onto that horse
Evening cruising and tubing and water skiing and kneeboarding
Want to hear something crazy? Even though we’ve been on vacation almost 2 weeks when we get home we get to have a staycation for a few days. We plan to alternate between doing all the things and doing nothing (preferably at the lake) so we can enjoy the last days of summer before school starts. I’m not ready for school. This year I have two lunches to pack every day and there is nothing I hate more than packing lunches.

This week Lincoln turned 1 and I started freaking out because summer feels almost over.
Sunday:
Target is easier when you can tie one kid to your back and bribe the other two with Icees.
All the kids love the Boppy
Lake Baby
Monday:
Sunflowers for Wishes is beauitful
Caroline dressed up for our wagon ride
I made the mistake of asking them to take a nice picture.
Tuesday:
Party planning
We have a LOT of clicky things from Wendy’s kids’ meals now.
This might have been the last time he napped nicely.
Wednesday:
If you look closely you can see my baby playing with his new 7 year old BFF.
Baby’s first deli cheese
It turns out clean and shopping is pretty good exercise
Thursday:
OK, I’M ONE NOW, I’M GOING SWIMMING
Birthday’s are exhausting
Bumpa will read you alllllll the books
Friday:
The bones of The Australia at Mystic Seaport
Figureheads
Using my camera to check and see if Linc is asleep yet. NOPE.
Saturday:
I’m proud that all my party guests noticed my sling matched the decor
He had a really good day
He has sad eyes because he tried to eat the lit candle, but eating an entire mini-cake cheered him up.
Linc’s first birthday party is over and it was SUCH a success. We were completely done and ready for our guests before they arrived (this never happens) and I got to relax and drink champagne while the kids screamed their heads off on the bounce house. My parents and E’s parents were both here which meant we had TWO grown ups per child – not to mention all the dads that Linc conned into picking him up and carrying him around. He’s really good with dads.
We’ve got some vacation coming up and I cannot waaaaaait. But first I have to get all those party photos sorted and posted, or they’ll end up in the file with the rest of this month’s fun activities and no one will ever see them. What good is a cool party theme without a blog post?!

Summer summer summertime! So much summering going on around here.
Sunday:
When there is a sleeping baby on you, you sit.
I tried to tell him biting an inflatable was a poor choice, but he didn’t listen.
Fruit pizza is my new favorite kind of pizza
Monday:
A++++ WOULD RECOMMEND
He’s becoming a Stage 3 leaner
Big kidding big kidding around!
Tuesday:
Making sure we got enough sticks in with the blueberries
Having big kid friends who can read is cool.
My husband made a table.
Wednesday:
Practicing her name while we wait for car repairs
Blueberry almond cakes
Took a walk ALONE because that’s not happening again for a while
Thursday:
Buying a toilet seat LIKE A BOSS
We picked up a friend from horse camp so Caroline could meet some horses
Surfer Dude
Friday:
Linc smashed it 10 seconds later
Cool kids wear hats
The view from the hill behind my house
Saturday:
Lake…
…Target…
…Ice cream. REPEAT.
Linc turns 1 on Thursday and I DON’T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT. His party is Saturday, and I have a bazillion things to do before then, including create a menu. I have never been this unprepared to feed my guests. I’m keeping my everything crossed that we have beautiful weather for the party, because I am counting on the bounce house and some bubbles to keep the kids entertained all afternoon. I don’t know what I’ll do if we have to be inside.
If you need me, I’ll be keeping as busy as possible so I can IGNORE THE PART ABOUT LINC TURNING 1.

It looks like I spent the WHOLE week at the lake. Which I guess I did.
Sunday:
Lake food
Lake view
Lake naps
Monday:
WATCH OUT FOR THE PINK FLOATY IT WILL RUIN YOUR KID
Love our BityBean in the water
Party countdown is on
Tuesday:
Lashes
Loaner wrap is super cushy
Star Wars, kids playing, me editing = mom life
Wednesday:
This baby is finally learning to sleep in his own room
He doesn’t know how to use that phone yet. Probably.
SO GOOD
Thursday:
Linc’s bouncy house makes him popular with the girls
When he can’t find his own blankie, brother’s will do
They are both very pleased with themselves
Friday:
Linc slept in his room. I woke up to this on my vidoe monitor.
Someone should watch that baby near the water
Gorgeous evening for a walk
Saturday:
Wore my lobster wrap down to the lobster docks
Double chocolate cake for lunch
Cards for dinner
My goal for this week is to get the kids to bed BEFORE 10 pm every night. It’s finally getting dark almost early enough for a real bedtime – no one will sleep when the sun is still up at 8:30. But I need 2 kid free hours after they all go to sleep and right now that means I’m still awake at 11:45 pm. Why can’t kids and grown ups switch? I will go to bed at 7:30 every night and they can stay up until whenever? Oh right, because then nothing would ever get done.
This week’s agenda includes two farmer stands, more lake, a horse barn, blueberry picking and car repairs. One of those things is less exciting than the others.

Sunday, July 5th, 2015
Hello. It is summer.
Sunday:
Morning lap naps because we have no where to be
Sports!
She’s very good at selfies
Monday:
Our Mystic day started at the aquarium
Then I tied my baby to a chair to eat grilled cheese…
Then Caroline decorated a whale at the seaport
Tuesday:
I’M A BIG KID
LOOK AT ME BEING BIG
Being a big kid is exhausting
Wednesday:
That whale is definitely trying to eat her
Caroline thinks sitting is boring
LINC THINKS SITTING IS VERY EXCITING
Thursday:
Bed stealer
Perfect
One Caroline to push 3 babies. She’s got it.
Friday:
So grown
Evan is doing is presentation about Seaport Camp and explaining his picture looks like that because he “only works in black and sometimes very very dark gray”.
Babies do not have good table manners
Saturday (Happy Fourth!!):
The Mayflower!! Linc is unimpressed because he knows it’s a replica.
Matching dresses are awesome
We stayed up waaaaaaay too late
And on that note, I am going to bed. The weekend was fun but exhausting and NO ONE has taken a real nap in more than a week. I need at least 6 hours of sleep in a row if I have any chance of functioning this week. Good night!
