This morning when I got in the car to go to a session the temperature said -3. Not 3 degrees below freezing, 3 degrees below ZERO. It barely warmed up during the day. Our furnace is struggling to keep the house warm and I really wish I never had to leave my couch nest of blankets ever again.
Sunday:
Nursing break during Mardi Gras Sunday at church
Evan really liked the parade
Visiting a friend on the maternity ward
Monday:
Checking out the snow
THREE CHILDREN playing trains together
Linc feels the same way I do about crunches
Tuesday:
Eating candy because his mother is a sucker
He says he’s ready to go play in the snow
No problem loving his own face
Wednesday:
I DON’T CARE IF IT’S SNOWING GO TO SCHOOL
There WAS a cat sitting back there
*ALMOST* 100% on the sight words!
Thursday:
BRB Googling flights to Hawaii
Naptime friends
Celebrating Daddy’s birthday
Friday:
Lincoln-date at the carousel
And at Red Robin (YUM)
And then my Valentine’s came early!
Saturday:
God Bless iPads so parents can sleep in
These two *heart eyes*
And these two!
LOOK AT THAT I GOT MY IPHONE POST DONE ON SUNDAY. I’m very impressed with myself. Now I’m going to go find some more blankets to hide under because it’s negative something degrees again and I do not like it. Even my winter layer isn’t keeping me warm anymore. Maybe I should eat another piece of that leftover cake from E’s birthday.
Because that seems like a much nicer option than cleaning up the house the kids trashed when they still have two days before they go back to school.

We had our first snow day on Friday! And we’re having our second snow day today, Monday. I’m not exactly tired of the snow but I am a liiiiiittle tired of seeing my family quite so much. I’m pretty sure they feel exactly the same way.
Sunday:
Lazy level 100
Baby brothers are helpful
MY KITCHEN SINK IS EMPTY I DID NOT DO THIS IS IT MAGIC???
Monday:
That seems normal for Feburary.
Important groceries
Family Insanity Time
Tuesday:
Sleeping with his eyes open
Where did I get a teenager?
Plz feed these to me immediately
Wednesday:
She thought her doctor’s gown was very fashionable
Toddler wearing
Hairdresser in training
Thursday:

Really please with his lollipop
Me: LINC IT IS FREEZING OUTSIDE GET BACK IN THE HOUSE. OK MISTER, I’M JUST GOING TO LEAVE YOU OUT THERE! I AM! FOR REAL! I’M SHUTTING THE DOOR! Linc: Whatevs.
Friday:
Snow day
Destroying stuff, because snow day
Exhausted from destroynig stuff
Saturday:
Horsey time
She wants to know why we don’t have a trampoline in OUR house
Parenting level up: getting a beer out of a cooler on the floor with a baby on your head
We wasted today’s snow day doing literally nothing. Which is fine, I like doing nothing. But I really hope we have normal school tomorrow so Linc and I can go do nothing at Target with a latte instead of on the couch while three children scream at each other. Plus we’re out of essentials like potato chips and bacon, so I’m going to HAVE to leave the house.
February already feels like the longest month ever and it’s only the 8th.

Today was our first snow of the winter, and possibly the only one we’re going to get. Our weather has been unseasonably warm (no complaints) and the kids have been dying for a chance to build snowmen and do other normal New Englandy winter stuff. A Friday snow day is the very best scenario. I’m tired of the school routine, I was planning to stay home with Linc all day anyway, we have a bunch of food, and my husband will probably be home early. Which is exactly what happened. Plus it wasn’t even that cold, so playing outside was fun instead of terrible.
p.s. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned Caroline’s snowsuit before. I got it at a consignment store last winter and it is the BEST. It’s from Hanna Andersson and is technically “baby” sized but still fits her this year. If you ever see one of these at a tag sale or thrift store, grab it up.

No cameras were harmed in the making of this photo.
And then the snow stopped and the sun came out!

It’s 60+ degrees today. I went on a lovely 4 mile hike by the ocean with a fr iend this morning without a coat – although the baby on my back counts as an extra layer. It was SO NICE to be outside and feeling like spring is on the way. Even if we get 5 feet of snow this month at least we’re not suffering through another endlessly cold, dark, snowy winter.
Sunday:
Three little troublemakers
The sun made it less cold
Photo session heaven
Monday:
READY TO GO
Now I’m nursing a baby AND a stuffed dog all the time
“My favorite part of my neighborhood is DD” That’s Dunkin Donuts. Mama’s so proud.
Tuesday:
Poppy & Rye *heart eyes forever*
Guilty face
This is the freestyle portion of ballet
Wednesday:
Skeptical of swim, as always
Box = more entertaining than thousands of real toys
Family Insanity Workout Time
Thursday:
LASHES
Bird stalking
Fancy hairs
Friday:
So cooperative and good at sharing, toddlers are
The number of things he insists on sleeping with keeps growing
Blowing stuff up while Caroline learns piano
Saturday:
Basketball poses
Babywearing in the Navy-themed Tula at the Navy-themed museum
THE GIRL’S TEAM WON BOTH GAMES IT’S A HAND AND FOOT MIRACLE
I’m afraid I’ve lost the ability to speak English. No one in my family seems to understand me when I talk, so that seems like the most likely explanation. Either that or they’ve all suddenly gone deaf, which might ALSO explain why they are SO LOUD ALL THE TIME.
That’s probably what happened.

I don’t know, guys. My iPhone photos are getting worse and worse and I’m not sure this is even a thing worth posting anymore. I only do it because it seems like such a shame to quit now – I have every day of our lives since I was pregnant with CAROLINE documents in iPhone photos. But they’re not good photos. And I should really push myself to post actual content on the blog if I’m going to bother to blog at all, instead of just doing this once a week. I’m conflicted.
Sunday:
Poser
FOOTBAAAAAAALL
I am unable to stop myself from decorating for a party almost a week early
Monday:
Aspirational spring dress purchasing
Snow angels! FINALLY!
TWINNING
Tuesday:
I bought my mom fish like these at a craft fair this summer. These are at Target.
RAINBOWS AT TARGET
Important party shopping: sugar, flowers, lemons
Wednesday:
Tiny reader
Nappy time
Caroline is being supportive of Daddy’s workout
Thursday:
It is still Christmas at the florist
They both thought this was hilarious
Making caramel for the popcorn balls
Friday:
Linc and friends enjoyed the party food
We ate kind of a lot of baked goods
I TOTALLY forgot piano, but our teacher let us come late
Sunday:
Movies and house-trashing because…
…this was outside
She has given up on life because she can’t go out and build a snowman in a blizzard
We did not get the same giant storm that my parents did down in DC, but we got a few inches. The weather the rest of this week is supposed to be surprisingly warm, which means all that snow will melt and things will be boring and brown again. But it ALSO means we won’t have to sell any kidneys to afford oil to heat the house, so it’s a toss-up really. I’m still trying to find our floors after the combination of party-blizzard-snow day, because the kids seriously just destroyed EVERYTHING. It’s hard to find motivation when they’re just going to destroy stuff again.
I’ve already reached DESPONDENCE and it’s not even February. Send all the sunshine and salted caramel ice cream immediately.
