Our spring-like weather looks like it’s here to stay but since this is New England I’m not taking anything for granted. We’ll be repeating this week with extra locations (zoo, beach, etc etc etc) thrown in for the next two months. More baths + later bedtimes are going to cut into my blog-writing time, but I’m OK with that. Sometimes it doesn’t hurt to remember we can live our lives even if I don’t write about every second of it online.

We were 2 minutes late to the town Easter Egg hunt and they were all gone – but some nice kids shared with my children.
Mexican food & a library visit is the traditional way to spend the Saturday before Easter, right?
Adorable new shoes gave me wicked blisters from 5 hours of shopping.
This week is Evan’s birthday! Good thing I’ve had the house decorated for the past month. I’ve got some cookies to make and a super amazing cake to order and some train tracks to lay down and maybe a train crossing sign to build and…wow, I really need to get some stuff done. My folks are coming up to help (yah!) but my husband’s going to be away for training (boo!) so the best word for my current feeling is “overwhelmed”.

I have instituted a no-falling-behind-in-the-housework rule for myself over the past week, therefore I have no energy left for the words.
Sunday:
Please notice the nice healthy cheese snack and ignore the cookies.

Monday:
Macaroni necklace making
Caroline is fake-napping because she is fake-sick so Evan is fake-doctoring her

Tuesday:
I sleep in a drawer!
Gym warm up
We stopped at the boat store so I could talk to the boat guy & I found them “fishing”
Wednesday:
Spider walks

I made a lot of dip this week
Thursday:
This is how I get to stay in bed an extra 30 minutes
Waking up to this instead of the dishes from last night is nice

Snowpocalypse! Snowtastrophe! Snowmygod! But the most exciting part of this week was actually that Caroline started preschool:

I pulled up in front of the school and threw them out. They loved it.
I love the gym on base – totally empty at 9 am.

Saturday:
Banana bread baking
Flying dog flies out of the snow once he realized how deep it is
Official toddler measurement: WHOA.
There’s still a travel ban on state roads and highways so we CAN’T go anywhere – not that we were the least bit tempted. We have electricity, Netflix streaming, lots of (boozy) hot cocoa and homemade pizza for dinner. E got home from work before the storm hit and gets to stay with us until Monday, so basically the storm is the best thing that’s happened in two weeks.

Like I said on Monday, there was a lot of couch-and-tv time this week. When I go back through my photos and SEE it I always feel worse than when it’s actually happening – because when it’s happening I’m relaxing on the couch, so I don’t care. I think my goal for next week will be to leave the house with the kids every day, even if it is just to run out for more clementines (srsly, we go through a box every two days).
