The themes of this week are: Front Porch and Sleeping Baby. Those are sometimes related but not always. I’ve leveled up in babywearing this week too, with MULTIPLE back wrap naps.
Sunday:
Cream Cheese Face
The same cheese face, but with less cheese
I don’t know why he looks surprised, we were at Target
Monday:
Unimpressed at the grocery store
Helping me watch for the bus
My new favorite ridiculous pants
Tuesday:
I got your nose! No wait I don’t WHAT IS THIS THING IN THE WAY??
Still unimpressed, but awake
The dog he is very impressed with
Wednesday:
Christmas jams 4 EVER
This was an entirely unneccesary elevator ride
He did that to himself
Thursday:
Waiting room zombies
Linc was sleeping so we hung out in the car while Caroline had soccer. I felt like a bum but SLEEPING BABY.
Her cheeseburger’s so bright, she’s gotta wear shades
Friday:
Chatting with mom friends on the porch is boring for babies
He was showing her the school because she’ll go there next year too
The coolness of the sleeping baby is ruined by the arm in the sunglass reflection
Saturday:
Linc is not the step-and-repeat expert Caroline is yet.
This is not a very good picture but I love it so, so much. They’re closing the FAO Schwarz in New York and I’m so excited the kids got to visit.
New York wore him OUT
I have a severe case of the End Of Year Moms and almost no motivation to do anything besides take the kids fun places and drink iced coffees. I’m fighting hard to make it to June before I start letting the kids skip to go to the beach just because it’s too hot to sit on the couch with a baby on me. We have a lot of summer fun planned and I’m afraid we won’t have time for all the un-planned fun as well. This past weekend in NYC was a good start but we have a LOT more to do.

Happy Mother’s Day, internet! I planted my traditional flower pots and vegetables. The flowers will traditionally look beautiful on the front steps and the vegetables will traditionally die before I ever see a single tomato or eggplant. But I wouldn’t want to stop planting them. It’s tradition.
Sunday:
Super sunny soccer game
I told them not to try chasing it.
So happy to be OUTSIDE
Bonus Sunday picture: Caroline goes “LOOK, ITS BABY LINC!”
Monday:
Playing Star Wars…
Watching Star Wars…
Wearing Star Wars. May the Fourth!
Tuesday:
Still recovering from doing ALL THE THINGS over the weekend
We are becoming experts at this back wrapping thing
This is the face he makes when he sees Caroline get off the bus
Wednesday:
These are my ridiculous new pants. I love them. I wore them to the dentist.
Sweaty nap head
Taking a walk down by the river
Thursday:
Doesn’t everyone eat their cheerios in the doorway?
Clingy McClingerson
The filthiest child
Friday:
Sleepy snuggles
She wasn’t happy about the bib, but that was already her third outfit of the day
The family that slides together, ends up in a big pile of crying children together.
Saturday:
You can’t tell, but he’s crying. Because some of his Cheerios fell on the floor. Because he threw them there.
Somehow, she did not fall in.
That is not the face of a healthy child. Poor baby had fifths disease (we think) but once you get the rash you’re not contagious anymore.
I really wanted to get a picture of myself with the kids for Mother’s Day, but that didn’t happen. There were too many meltdowns, too many dirty faces, too many things to do, too many kids to wrangle. But while we were making s’mores for dinner both Evan and Caroline said THEY were having the best day ever, so at least the kids enjoyed their day. If that’s not basically what motherhood breaks down to then I don’t know what it.

It’s March now, so why is it snowing?
Sunday:
Multi-tasking: Nursing and yoga
Baby’s first official dance party
Help-yourself candy bar totally blew their mind
Monday:
STOP THINKING ABOUT CRAWLING
First successful crib nap!!
Big version, little version
Tuesday:
She is not so sure about this side-swept bangs look
Old Man Lincoln demands you get the GOOD cheese, not the STORE BRAND cheese, you hear me young lady?
Luck o’the Davises
Wednesday:
I’m super thrilled about her new favorite game
Making sure he loves fish as much as I do
WHERE’S WALDO?
Thursday:
LOOK AT ALL THE STUFF I CAN PUT IN MY MOUTH
So over me
Evan obviously needs boots
Friday:
We are both bad at lipstick
Guilty face
Now that’s impressive baby wearing
Saturday:
No I will not stop taking pictures of his eyelashes
Go ahead and judge my dinner choices but also please judge these IDIOTS who don’t know how to PULL FORWARD in the line.
The, uh, face of a kid who ate three tacos
It’s snowing. Again. I haven’t heard a single plow, so I’m assuming we’ll have a delay in the morning if not a cancelation. If they can get the roads even the least bit clear I am dragging my children out to someplace public, like the aquarium or the seaport, so I can wear them out and escape my house. I am really, really tired of my house. I am having the urge to repaint and redecorate ever room again, which is expensive and also mostly impossible with three kids to keep track of. It’s more likely I will just throw out a LOT of stuff in the next couple weeks. Does anyone want 47 souvenir glasses from various restaurants and a huge pile of baby advice books?

Sunday, February 22nd, 2015
The kids had Monday and Tuesday off school, which DIRECTLY coincided with E’s trip out of town. I did not enjoy that. It was also ridiculously cold. February is not my favorite.
Sunday:
She said I was her sous chef because she was Top Chef
He’s so helpful, trying to curl Caroline’s hair with a screwdriver.
Lap nap baby
Monday:
OMG GIANT SNAKE…oh wait, it’s still fake
Hello whales!
Literally bouncing off the walls
Tuesday:
Hot mess babywearing
Helping with selfies
I put my baby down inside that Boppy. HOW DID HE GET OVER THERE?
Wednesday:
Fake it til you make it
Aparently today she is a Southern Belle
This is becoming a bit of a habit
Thursday:
MIRACLES
Unimpressed with his cute new hat OR his fancy Tula…because it was 2 degrees out
My husband is good at appologizing
I’m going back to Gymboree and buying that onesie in ever size
Friday:
Back nap! The BEST part of babywearing!
Princess crime scene
Gingerrrrrrrrs
Saturday:
Big girl fancy soda
Hashtag third child
Oh you thought I was sleeping???? SURPRISE!
It was 41 degrees today. The kids and I all left the house without coats. But it’s going to be -11 tomorrow. At least there are no major snow storms in this week’s forecast? Maybe we’ll actually have a full week of school!! But knowing my luck, the second that happens will be the second Lincoln learns to crawl and I will never get a quiet moment again.

Three day weekends confuse me. I forgot it’s Monday at least 5 times today. Wait, is it Monday?
Sunday:
My children got up so early I saw the sunrise. At least it was beautiful?
This adorable moment photobombed by a nose-picker
Neck floatie of torture is still enjoyed
Monday:
Singing a snow song
Making calls on her shell phone
This is not a baby blanket but the baby does not care
Tuesday:
He’s skeptical at my decision to go “a little lighter” at my hair appointment
Best color
Grocery shopping helper
Wednesday:
OH SISTERS
I was doing SO WELL not buying things…and then I stopped
There has been a lot of this recently (MAYBE BECAUSE SHE KEEPS GETTING UP AT 5 AM)
Thursday:
We’re getting really good at this
But this is still the only place he will nap.
Angry Birds helps him wait his turn
Friday:
THESE ARE NOT ALL MINE DON’T FREAK OUT. It was a babywearing playdate.
The color of the wrap = the color of his eyes
Baby friend chat!!
Saturday:
Post-dance sticker goes on your head, obviously
DID SOMEONE SAY NURSIES????
A lady at the grocery store threatened to steal him. I don’t blame her.
I an very much enjoying our day off today and not really looking forward to the rest of the week where we all have to get up and DO STUFF. Not doing stuff is so much easier. Especially in January. Blech.
