My Week(48) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, October 1st, 2011

I went to bed at 9 pm twice this week but could NOT figure out why I was so exhausted. I mean, sure, the baby has been getting up twice a night while we transition her to her nursery. But why would that make me tired? I’m a stay at home mom! I obviously don’t DO anything all day. I must have gotten a super heavy box of bonbons this week.

Oh wait, or maybe I did a zillion and one things.

Sunday:

Splits!! And I just spent 15 minutes trying to remember what it's called when you do a split with your back leg bent like that. I still don't remeber.

This was supposed to be a picture of an AWESOME block tower I built but Destructo Toddler is faster than my iPhone camera. Jerk.

I think he likes his hat

 Monday:

Caroline wants to know if Twist is actually ON meth or just ACTS like he's on meth

If you're wondering where I find the time to craft new decor for my upcoming Halloween party, the answer is "There's PLENTY of time in the day when the baby gets you up at 5 am"

Those are my teeths. Why does posting this x-ray feel like posting a naked picture?

Special lunch with a very handsome daddy

Tuesday:

My toddler can't hold his pee for five minutes until we get to a bathroom but he knows that Tuesdays are TRASH DAYS

I ran out of this red yarn to finish Caroline's fall coat, so let's just hope it doesn't get cold before next week.

Husband: What's for dinner? Me: I don't know. Let me go check Pinterest. Pinterest: Buffalo chicken rolls and parmesan fries.

Wednesday:

It's cute she's helping, until she grabs a knife. She ALWAYS goes for the knives.

I wore real clothes AND real bra. It gave me a mild case of mastitis. That'll teach me to be fancy.

This is the cart of groceries I had to abandon at BJ's because I forgot my wallet. AGAIN.

THE CUPCAKES.

Thursday:

And this is why my family is going to survive post-zombie apocalypse. We've got skills.

Friendly's for lunch??? NO WAY!

She plays with this toy correctly. It blows my mind that she understands it already.

 Friday:

Women's shoes and a guitar. Future rock star??

Evan almost got whiplash on this ride at the fair...and he LOVED IT.

Fair food, you are in me.

Pink cheeks from a long day of fun

Saturday:

Geez, what a lazy ass

Yes, those are my feet. Yes, I went for a run. Yes, I could have been sleeping. Yes, I am an idiot.

On my way home I found this in the trash. I carried it 5 blocks. Expect to see a LOT of play kitchen inspiration on my Pinteret boards.

And now it’s time to feed everyone lunch, read a little bit and then nap for AT LEAST three hours. Tomorrows plans are the same. You might call it boring and lazy, I call it saving up my energy so we survive the winter. IT’S SCIENCE.

My Week(47) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, September 24th, 2011

My ennui from Tuesday lasted all week, which means I’ve got a boring week of photos today. I didn’t FEEL like I wasn’t really doing anything but based on my pictures (or lack thereof) I gave in to my desires to stay home a lot more than I thought. But I spent one bazillion dollars at the craft store on Friday and have been cutting and gluing and knitting and it seems to be improving my mood a little bit. It also means the children and I are covered in gold glitter that refuses to come off. SPARKLY!

Sunday:

Admiring herself in a pocket mirror. She's so vain.

Radishes in our stir fry - tasty AND pretty!

Monday:

It took less than a month for my gorgeous Kate Spade to turn into a diaper bag. Oh motherhood.

Eating - er, DRAWING - with chalk at playgroup.

More cooking - roasted veggies & balsamic glazed onions

Tuesday:

YOU'RE GOING THE WRONG WAY. GO SOUTH.

Sippy cups, coffee, vintage knitting patterns, dinosaurs - pretty much my entire life on one table

Growing mushrooms is cool, as long as you don't think too carefully about what is probably in those sacks

Wednesday:

My kids in a nutshell - Caroline: "Look at me, I'm so cute!" Evan: "Oooo something shiny!!!"

SLOW YOUR ROLL, BJ'S. It's not even HALLOWEEN yet.

Accusing face. I deserved it, she got a shot AND a finger prick.

Thursday:

Stroller Strides. I suspect the kids think we're all insane.

Wrestling. I think Caroline won.

Skeptical baby is skeptical

Friday:

There's now a "make your own cloth diaper" section at my craft store.

GLITTER.

New yarn for new projects. Luckily there was room in my knitting bag, which is already 75% full of old projects I haven't finished.

Saturday:

Can you guess what Caroline is going to be for Halloween?

Practicing his circles

Someone made a HUGE MESS during dinner and ended up naked.

I’ve decided I get the rest of the weekend to continue being lazy (especially tomorrow, which is my day to sleep in, which means I am not even going to THINK about getting out of bed until 10 am) and then I’m going to snap out of it. I’ve got a whole Pinterest board full of Halloween craft ideas, Caroline’s costume to finish, a What’s for Dinner post to write and lots of fall pictures to take. Unless it keeps raining. Rain validates all laziness.

My Week(44) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, September 3rd, 2011

I swear to God this week went by so fast I barely remember the beginning half, but I have NO IDEA what we did. Thank goodness I take so many pictures.

Sunday:

We filled the bathtub with water in case our power went out. E laughed at me (and our power was only out for 3 hours) but the people who only got power back TODAY wish they had remembered to do it too!

Back yard during the hurricane

LET ME OUT!

Monday:

Storm damage at the park

Oh my heart attack. STOP CLIMBING NOW.

Strawberry

Tuesday:

"Food Mama! Foood!!! More!!" says the toddler holding the giant bag of Splenda.

Mind. Blown.

One armed toddler and the modesty duck. Worst children's book ever.

Wednesday:

Baby yoga: cobra pose and child's post

I have no idea what this pose is, but I'm impressed.

Step one, you put a toddler in the box

Thursday:

This garden was calling my name. Except instead of sitting there relaxing I dragged a screaming 2-year old through the parking lot. Good times.

"Evan SAD", says Evan. "No shit", says Mama. It was that kind of day.

Friday:

THIS IS HAPPENING.

Impromptu family outing to feed the ducks

I see you, kid. Get your finger out of your nose.

Started Caroline's winter coat. BECAUSE IT IS FALL. IT IS, NO REALLY, IT IS. Well, ok, SOON.

Saturday:

Fancy hair! But I have no idea how I did it. also, it's held in place with a knitting needle.

THIS IS STILL HAPPENING.

Letting Caroline chew on my keys is super gross, but the screaming if you take them away is worse.

Who has two thumbs and is super excited about this three day weekend PLUS a vacation we have coming up? THIS GUY. There is a beach involved. And girlfriends. And before that we’re going to make the most of this summer weekend – I hope you’re prepared for a whole week of picture essays about ice cream and cows and babies frolicking in sun dresses.

My Week(43) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, August 27th, 2011

It’s amazing how even a really challenging week looks so nice in iPhone photos. Do not be fooled by these posts.

Sunday:

Before I had kids, I never thought going to the grocery store alone would be considered a good time.

This is what went into that galette I made

Daddy's idea of playing with the baby

Monday:

Playground after Stroller Strides

LARGE iced Dunkin' Dark with skim milk and 3 Splenda

I think we need a bigger toy box. Or FEWER TOYS.

Tuesday:

Hi hi hi hi hi hi! Watcha doin????

Battle wounds from an asphalt vs. face fight. Poor baby.

He looks pretty happy for someone getting Taco Bell for dinner.

Wednesday:

I may have overreacted to it being just SLIGHTLY chilly that morning

Flowers & stripes

I ended up buying this outfit, mostly because the kids started SCREAMING and I felt guilty about making such a spectacle and leaving empty handed.

E had hockey so I had my own private knit night at home instead of going to the shop. Much less fun.

Thursday:

Thank God for baby gates. HAHA YOU CAN'T TOUCH ME NOW.

Lockup has turned her into a hardened criminal. Obviously.

Fiona Baby Sundress (pattern from Ravely)

Friday:

Ready to go to Stroller Strides

Presents in the mail. People like me!

Nursing the baby now comes with a risk of being kicked in the face

Bread aisle at Target. I guess people are taking this hurricane thing seriously.

Saturday:

Laughing cow wedges on toast

Back off woman, I'm just trying to watch WonderPets!

Concerned dog looks concerned, but our fronch porch has been cleared and we're ready for whatever Mother Nature throws at us.

So there isn’t much going on this weekend, besides waiting to see if Irene hits us. We’re directly in the path but our house is in an area safe from flooding and they aren’t talking about evacuating for any other reason. I’m a teeny tiny bit worried about our big tree falling down – apparently there used to be a matching tree on the other side of the house. It fell down during the LAST hurricane – but there’s nothing I can do to prevent high winds so I’m trying to use my energy on more important things, like taking a nap and baking cookies. I hope all my East Coast friends stay safe – and the rest of you enjoy the nice weather our hurricane is giving you!

My Week(38) in iPhone Photos

Sunday, July 24th, 2011

Wow, internets, I’ve been ignoring you like crazy. But when it’s 104 degrees for a zillion days in a row, we’re too busy trying to keep cool and hiding in our air conditioned bedroom to do anything blog-worthy. I barely even took enough pictures to do my weekly post, but after THIRTY EIGHT weeks I’m not gonna miss one now!

Sunday:

My super glamorous life: reading books and pumping breastmilk

I let the cats out of the basement but it was too hot so they sulked around for an hour before going back down

Monday:

Colored ice cubes at playgroup

Chubby leg nap

E is still taking a photography class, so he takes a lot of random pictures

Tuesday:

Getting ready for our monthday photoshoot

Official spray bottle holder at Stroller Strides

Veggies at our CSA pickup

Wednesday:

Getting ready for a day full of...nothing

This game is called "bebeh drive boat" and it is Little Evan's FAVORITE

Getting my craft on with beads and ribbon

Big girl can stand all by herself

Thursday:

North Lake, on the SubBase. It was PERFECT for the kids - Evan loved it.

Caroline loved the sand. Especially eating it.

So, I bought this. And I did it. It is...not so good. I'm hoping it fades.

Friday:

What, don't you sleep with a tiny light saber?

Poor choices

I went to Hot Topic. I felt really, really old and uncool.

Whoever did this to the toys at the craft store is full of win.

Star Trek on the iPad, knitting myself a summer shawl. I am the world's most confused dork.

Saturday:

I got free deoderant from the internet.

Day on the boat included a trip to the secret marina in Gales Ferry

The marble game! We will teach you to play, but E will yell at you for doing it wrong.

We already had an adventure today involving sunflowers, a hayride and ice cream, and tomorrow E took the day off for a SUPER fun family trip. Tons of pictures coming soon, but right now I need a nap. Summer is exhausting!
