My Week(228) in iPhone Photos

Sunday, March 15th, 2015

So, Linc learned to scoot this week. More than lunging, more than wiggling, real one-knee up monkey scooting which makes him fully mobile. For good measure he can also pull up to his knees on the couch, chairs, the cat, the dog, and anything else he can reach. He’ll be on his feet within a month and probably walking by 9 months, just like his jerk brother and sister. WHAT GOOD IS WEARING HIM ALL THE TIME if it doesn’t slow him down at all!? I didn’t WANT him to be mobile!

We were supposed to go out of town this weekend but our plans changed and we were left with two completely free days. We spent one doing literally nothing and one day having a family adventure. Both were nice but exhausting. I think having a 7 month old means I’m exhausted no matter what we do these days. I actually have dreams where I dream about being asleep.

In fact, I need to go to sleep right now so I can get 3 hours before Linc wakes up to eat. Being a mobile jerk baby takes a lot of energy.

My Week(225) in iPhone Photos

Sunday, February 22nd, 2015

The kids had Monday and Tuesday off school, which DIRECTLY coincided with E’s trip out of town. I did not enjoy that. It was also ridiculously cold. February is not my favorite.

Maybe we’ll actually have a full week of school!! But knowing my luck, the second that happens will be the second Lincoln learns to crawl and I will never get a quiet moment again.

GO PATRIOTS! True story, I was 100% sure the Seahawks were going to win, even while I was cheering for the Pats. I am loyal in my fandom but not in my belief. Good thing we’re having ANOTHER snow day today so I can recover from the excitement.

I seriously cannot even keep track of what day it is anymore, since school days mean nothing. Caroline has been out for a WEEK straight. Even my husband’s schedule is messed up – thank goodness, because otherwise I’d be doing all the snow removal with a baby on my back. I have to say I would like to make it to Target at some point this month (the mom version of a day off) but that might not happen until March. Or April.

Is it summer yet?

My Week(219) in iPhone Photos

Sunday, January 11th, 2015

It’s really cold. I have a lot of feelings about it being so cold, but they’re all very negative and I’m trying to remain upbeat. But basically, eff this effing weather and eff you January I hate you why can’t it be effing June already?

saturday2

He ordered celery, so I let him order red drank instead of milk

saturday3

And we out!

Last week was our first week back at all our activities…and yet I completely forgot to go to them. We just skipped swim class. So my goal for this week is to make it to all our appointments and classes and activities and dinners and stuff. If you see me on Wednesday and my hair looks like crap, you’ll know I’ve already failed, since my hair appointment is TUESDAY.

And someone please fix this weather. Ok, good talk.

Christmas Photo Post 2014

Wednesday, December 31st, 2014

These are not very good, from a technical standpoint. My children were not very cooperative, I didn’t edit them much, and definitely don’t think anyone would call them professional. But they are an accurate representation of our holiday and I’m happy I have them and can share them and one day I will love them just as much as I love the tiny 3×5 prints of my own childhood Christmases.

I actually hate to even type this because I KNOW I will fail and why even TRY to start something when I know it will fail but I’m going to do a 365 Photo Project in 2015. My goal is to take one photo every day that I don’t edit. One photo taken as a JPG on my big girl camera, no cropping, no lighting adjustments, no cloning things out of the background, no white balance correction. I have to accept it as it was taken, which (hopefully) will make me more conscious of things in-camera and not letting myself say “Oh I’ll just fix it later”. That’s why I never posted Halloween photos – I never finished editing them. That is LAZY photography and I need to be better than that.

Don’t worry, I won’t post all of those photos here. I haven’t decided how I’ll do it yet but I promise I won’t make you look at a crappy photo every day. As if blog readership wasn’t down ENOUGH this year.
