Wordless Wednesday: Last Days of Fall

Wednesday, November 12th, 2014

Some mom friends and I took the kids down to Bluff Point for a hike since we didn’t have school on Tuesday. 5 moms and 11 kids. When we got to the beach all the big kids went off on an adventure while the babies hung out on the sand and ate rocks. It was so nice to be out of the house in the fresh (warm) air ALL DAY…plus the gingers all slept amazingly well last night.

My Week(209) in iPhone Photos

Monday, November 3rd, 2014

I’m going to go against popular opinion here and say I LOVE the extra hour we get with fall back. I was exhausted at 10 pm last night so I went to sleep, and then woke up on my own 15 minutes before the alarm. It felt positively leisurely. I have no idea if my children got an extra hour of sleep, because they know better than to come wake me up unless the house is on fire.

The weekend was not at ALL relaxing due to a broken computer and a broken forehead, so I’m playing as much catch up as I can today. (Both are much better today, fingers crossed they stay that way.) I have zero photo shoots scheduled this week as of right now, but FIVE blog posts to write. Considering I can’t even get this one posted in a timely manner, it’s amazing anyone still reads. Maybe no one does. Maybe you’re all spambots. Or my mother. Hi Mom!

My Week(208) in iPhone Photos

Sunday, October 26th, 2014

I am tiiiiiiired. I don’t even have a good excuse beyond doing lots of stuff this week – my darling darling baby slept 10 hours last night. But this weekend was busy and this next week is going to be super busy. I feel like a broken record, because all I post anymore is complaints about how BUSY I am and I know it’s boring. But really, once you have three kids you’re pretty much always busy. Even the baby thinks I should try to sit on the couch more – he’s really tired of being nursed in uncomfortable chairs.

Saturday:

saturday2

WHY AM I STILL AWAKE AT A PARTY AT 9 PM?

saturday3

Yeah, I ate that.

I am once again shocked at how many photos of my own face are in this post. I’m not a selfie person. Or at least, I didn’t think I was a selfie person. But that might have had something to do with being hugely pregnant for what felt like the last decade. It was also SO NICE to get my hair cut (even if I had to bring the baby) that I’m going back in 5 weeks to refresh my color. I have nice hair when I take care of it, and since right now I feel old and fat, I need to work on what makes me feel good. Maybe in a couple weeks I’ll do something REALLY crazy, like schedule a facial or a massage.

Oh who am I kidding, if I had money for a massage I’d just spend it on another wrap. I cannot stop drinking the babywearing Koolaid.

Fall In

Thursday, October 23rd, 2014

Three kids is a lot of kids. I mean, it’s not A LOT of kids. 15 is a lot of kids. But three kids is more kids than I have hands or eyes, so the logistics of taking them out in public can be difficult.  It’s actually not so bad, since I can keep one kid literally tied to my body at all times, especially when we’re out doing things and it’s not really safe to just leave him on the floor. If it were up to me, that’s where he would hang out most of the time, since he’s pretty entertained by ceiling fans and smiling and I can smile at him from the couch.

But the two bigger ones still expect me to be Fun Mom who Does All The Things, so last weekend we went and Did All The Things. Since they have the attention span of gnats I managed to fit all the fun into just one warm, beautiful Saturday so we could stay home and do nothing on the colder, less beautiful Sunday. I like to pretend I am Supermom but I can only keep it up for like, 4 hours. Then I turn into regular old fed-up, impatient, tired mom.

Luckily it really was a gorgeous day and I did not collapse after climbing the giant hill to the apple trees and I even managed to bring my camera, which is the thing that I have been letting go in the name of sanity. But it was really fun to do fall things AND take pictures.

Please enjoy some pictures.

My Week(207) in iPhone Photos

saturday2

Goodest good baby slept the whole time

saturday3

This is almost not even like real life, right? Look at that huge empty field.

We had a busy week, and another busy week coming up, followed by nothing but busy weeks until Christmas. I don’t understand how it’s almost the end of October already, or how my baby will be three months this week or how it is almost 11 pm and I am still finishing this post and not sleeping. Time is such a jerk.
