My Week(361) in iPhone Photos

Friday, October 27th, 2017

What day is it? Where am I? When was this? All the weeks seem both a million years ago and like they are still happening right now.

Sunday:

Sleeeeeeepy baby

This is Lincoln running away because I am the meanest

The kids are doing yoga right now while I am typing this recap

Monday:

Pajamas on the porch

When he outgrows these boots, he’ll go barefoot forever

MORE NAPS

Tuesday:

Picking up Brutus at the vet

Stupid bug bite turned into an INSANE rash

WHY AREN’T YOU SLEEPING NOW?

Wednesday:

Sure, that’s normal.

Someone wasn’t getting enough attention

Thursday:

Sick, miserable kiddo

Friday:

Back to the doctor for some prednisone

SAVE ME HALO TOP

Farmer’s market night

Saturday:

The price I pay for sleeping in for half an hour

Corn maze adventure

Caroline does handstands, Finn shares his juice

The weather went from being full-time amazing to rainy and dark and it reminds me that in a couple weeks daylight savings will end and it will be dark by the time the kids get home from school. AND THEN WE STILL HAVE TO GO TO ALL OUR ACTIVITIES. I do not love this part of the year in New England. At least in a few weeks I can start on Christmas and that will cheer me up.

Fall In

Thursday, October 23rd, 2014

Three kids is a lot of kids. I mean, it’s not A LOT of kids. 15 is a lot of kids. But three kids is more kids than I have hands or eyes, so the logistics of taking them out in public can be difficult. ¬†It’s actually not so bad, since I can keep one kid literally tied to my body at all times, especially¬†when we’re out doing things and it’s not really safe to just leave him on the floor. If it were up to me, that’s where he would hang out most of the time, since he’s pretty entertained by ceiling fans and smiling and I can smile at him from the couch.

But the two bigger ones still expect me to be Fun Mom who Does All The Things, so last weekend we went and Did All The Things. Since they have the attention span of gnats I managed to fit all the fun into just one warm, beautiful Saturday so we could stay home and do nothing on the colder, less beautiful Sunday. I like to pretend I am Supermom but I can only keep it up for like, 4 hours. Then I turn into regular old fed-up, impatient, tired mom.

Luckily it really was a gorgeous day and I did not collapse after climbing the giant hill to the apple trees and I even managed to bring my camera, which is the thing that I have been letting go in the name of sanity. But it was really fun to do fall things AND take pictures.

Please enjoy some pictures.

This thing fires water bottles at big targets. Evan would have spent every dollar I own doing it all day.

I hate corn mazes, but Evan took charge and actually lead the way through. There was another mom with a 4 year old who walked with us and even she was impressed.

There is still corn all over my house from this corn pit

Clark Farms 2012 – Our Everyday

Friday, October 26th, 2012

There isn’t exactly a shortage of scenic, fall-like locations in Connecticut, but sometimes you gotta escape to the Island. Rhode Island, that is. (Sidebar: trying explaining to a 3 year old why a place is called Rhode Island when a) it’s not an island and b) you don’t actually know WHY it’s called Rhode Island is hard). The Ocean State is pretty scenic too, especially if you’re a toddler who likes giant slides and goats. Then I highly recommend Clark Farms.

I’m taking a break-out session through Clickin Moms called Photographing Your Everyday and it’s sort of amazing. I was secretly hoping that just by READING really good advice on the internet my photography would somehow improve instantly. Oddly enough, it didn’t quite work like that and it’s going to take a lot of hands-on practice before I get better. But going into the day the intention of telling a story and a plan for how to do it definitely made a difference in my shooting.

Thanks to our friend Merin & her girls for inviting us and playing so nicely, even if the goats didn’t. I hope your kids crashed as hard as mine did last night, and you finally get to enjoy 9 hours of sleep.
