A very windswept session at the park

It was our first week of All The Stuff and it was pretty much as exhausting as I was expecting. On Thursday morning, I got the kids on the bus then crawled back into bed with Linc until he started hitting me in the face at 9 am. I’m actually HOPING for some rain this week, because if the weather is bad I don’t feel guilty staying home all day. If only I could convince Linc the TV is super interesting and he should sit still and watch it for an hour or two…

Best Weekend Of The Year (Part 2)

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2015

Some of my weekend plans got derailed because the US Navy doesn’t actually believe skipping work to attend the Eastern States Exposition (aka The Big E) is a priority. They are obviously wrong, but that doesn’t change the fact that they wouldn’t let E go. But there was still plenty of weekend fun had by all.

Still loving our Joovy TooQool, even the 6 year old wants to ride in it.

I wish I had taken more photos, there was so much cute stuff, but it was unexpectedly warm and I had a squirmy baby on my back and a 4 year old who needed to get to soccer practice.

Best Weekend Of The Year 2015 (Part 1)

Monday, September 14th, 2015

The Greek church in town went and moved their food festival to NEXT weekend, so my Best Weekend Of The Year is now divided into two weekends. But the good news it there is even more stuff next weekend (a vintage market, the Garlic Festival and THE BIG E) so I get two Best Weekends instead of one. I LOVE FALL IN NEW ENGLAND.

We started Saturday at the Ledyard Fair. They do free rides from 9-10 and since the kids love rides and I hate paying $75 to go on them, we skipped our first day of soccer in favor of the fair.

For dinner we walked downtown for Taste of Italy. I love that we can walk. I love the free bounce house. And I looooved my lobster mac and cheese.

While we were waiting for Evan to be done bouncing, we heard Sweet Caroline come on the sound system. This was her reaction:

Then on Sunday we headed out for lunch at Mystic Eats. It used to be called Taste of Mystic but now it’s…not? It was very dramatic and lots of small-town paper editorials were written. But it’s exactly the same as all the other years. Tons of delicious choices, with Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream for dessert.

My Week(212) in iPhone Photos

Sunday, November 23rd, 2014

I did a terrible job of taking photos this week. Terrible. It turns out when I’m busy I forget to pull out my phone and take photos of things like the grocery shopping or our playdate or laundry (ALL THE LAUNDRY). We did have a pretty exciting week though.

Sunday:

sunday1

Linc hung out with me all morning at a newborn session. This is the only picture I took.

sunday2

ALL THE BATHS for the baby who loves swimming

Monday:

monday1

Sunshine on a rainy day

monday2

Shoe shopping

monday3

Put a Frozen backdrop in Target = listen to every child ever sing “LET IT GO”

Tuesday:

tuesday1

Looking for snow (not yet)

tuesday2

The guys at the post office asked me if Linc was a real baby.

tuesday3

Teething relief for mommy and baby

Wednesday:

wednesday1

The baby and the cat have reached a truce

wednesday2

I really love wearing Caroline and she agrees

wednesday4

Couch naps with Baby Jesus

Thursday:

thursday1

So many leaves, so not raking them

thursday2

Teething baby wanted cuddles. I wanted to do laundry. We both won.

thursday3

Two dudes watching TV. FINALLY.

Friday:

friday1

Clearly I need a purple one.

friday2

Cuddles

Saturday:

saturday1

Breaking in my Rainbow Baby wrap

saturday2

UNIMPRESSED by riding in the cart

saturday3

I’m pretty sure this photo makes up for all the other ones this week being boring.

Today I went to a photo shoot and brought ZERO children with me. I came home and said “Linc, I missed you!” and then realized it was the first time in his whole 4 months of life I have EVER missed him. Because he has never been more than like 100 feet away from me. Having my husband FINALLY home is pretty useful.

We still don’t know what our plans are for Thanksgiving, so next week’s post could either be nice and early or super late again. I basically care zero perfect about this holiday and am just counting days until I can put up the tree without feeling like a jerk.

My Week(211) in iPhone Photos

Monday, November 17th, 2014

Linc has two bottom teeth. If you’ve ever had a 3 month old with teeth you will know why it has taken me two days to finish this post. And also why my right nipple hurts so bad I wish I could just cut it off.

I have a new game for you, called “count how many times Suzanne wears the babies in this week’s post”. The prize is then you get to judge me for being crazy.

Sunday:

sunday1

I wore my wrap instead of a coat for our walk to church

sunday2

FINALLY CONNECTICUT HAS YUENGLING THANK YOU

sunday3

Boys in a bounce house = trouble

Monday:

monday1

Twins

monday2

My town is pretty cute sometimes

monday3

Much healthy, so good for me

Tuesday:

tuesday1

Like a scene from an end of the world movie

tuesday3

And then a some horses showed up and blew Caroline’s mind

1-IMG_7386

Me: Caroline, want to be my model so I can test the light for a picture? Caroline: UGH.

Wednesday:

wednesday1

A Still Life Of The Kitchen Of A Woman Who DGAF: Volume 1,000,000

wednesday2

All those stupid power lines are ruining my enjoyment of this beautiful sky. WHO NEEDS ELECTRICITY ANYWAYS?

wednesday3

I put that on his head and then laughed at him.

Thursday:

thursday1

Start ’em young!

thursday2

That one is called Invisibility Cloak. Linc says “Am I invisible now?”

thursday3

That’s Evan, solo back swimming in the deep end. SO BIG.

Friday:

friday1

Caroline likes being worn more than anyone else.

friday2

Being a ballerina is exhausting

friday3

As of right now my red tree is bare, but last week it was gorgeous

Saturday:

saturday1

Real life: I bring my baby to photo sessions because he’s exclusively nursing, but sometimes it does not go well. Luckily the photos themselves are still awesome.

saturday2

OH THANKS HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON SEQUEL, I WANTED TO CRY MY EYES OUT

saturday3

Wraps make good blankies after rough days too.

And now I am going to go grit my teeth and nurse down the miserable baby AGAIN (and then give him some tylenol and gas drops and teething tablets and make sure his amber necklace is on and stand on one leg naked in the moonlight and ANYTHING ELSE that might help him with his sad mouth pain). Poor baby.
