Next week will be 200 WEEKS of iPhone photos, which is a lot of weeks. It will also be total chaos, between two different classroom orientations, two different start times, two buses, two schools, my first attempts at lunch-packing, all with a newborn in tow. Don’t be shocked if every photo is of a large Dunkin iced coffee. This week, no coffee, but certainly some questionable food choices.

So far my plan to Stay On Top Of Things is going really well, if you don’t count Linc’s first month update and this post both being a day late. The sink is still empty and clean, the toys are still organized and (mostly) off the floor, and I made it to the grocery store to get school lunch supplies. Now we’ll see how long actually MAKING lunch lasts before I start offering money for hot lunch instead.

Even if you have a pretty good baby, they still keep your hands busy a LOT. Which makes blogging and photo editing hard. I have literally a thousand photos to share but will be lucky if I get 10% of them edited and posted in the next 6 months.

I am really, really looking forward to school starting.

The weather this weekend has been GORGEOUS and I have enjoyed it…from my couch. After more than 5 weeks of house guests/traveling it is really nice to just sit down. Of course, it was really nice to have other people do all the cooking/cleaning/child minding too, but I have to get used to running the house and managing 3 kids at some point. So far they are all still alive. High fives!

Have I mentioned recently that I had a baby? No? You missed that?

Newsflash: I just had a baby. And if there is one thing you really want to do when you have a newborn, it’s find fun, educational, enriching activities for your 5 and 3 year old to do.

No, wait. That’s the LAST thing you want to do. The first thing you want to do is take a nap. Then take another nap. Then sit on the couch and eat something before cuddling your baby and taking another nap.

Let’s just say that even with some of my family here to help the kids have been using the iPad a lot more than I usually allow. And I’m not the strictest when it comes to iPad use, so the level of technology-as-babysitter is close to 100%. But because I don’t want their brains to rot completely I’m making an effort to monitor WHAT they watch – fewer animated ponies and more educational stuff.

I have a ton of big-girl camera pictures to post from our spring break in VA and our holiday weekend, but I fell asleep this afternoon and didn’t wake up until just now, so my editing is a little behind. I am behind on everything. Except baby-growing, which seems to be happening far, far too fast.

Today was warmish. Yesterday was warmish. I think the whole week is supposed to be warmish, which gives me hope we’ve reached the warmish part of spring and pretty soon we’ll be sitting on the patio instead of the couch. I can’t wait until I can flop by huge pregnant butt down on a beach and get a nice sunburn.

180 is kind of a crazy number of weeks, right? I mean, I balk every year at doing a 365-project with my DSLR because who takes THAT many pictures?? But it turns out…Me. I do. I take way more than that (although they’re not very good).

This week is spring break for the kids and because I was worried I’d be stuck at home while E was at sea the kids and I are going to Virginia. Unfortunately (fortunately?? I can’t even tell anymore) E ISN’T at sea, so he’ll get a week of no-wife-no-kids. I am hoping he appreciates the silence, the king sized bed to himself, and as much fast food as he wants. I will not remind him that in Virginia I get to see a dear friend’s new baby, have access to grandparent babysitting and all the Chick-fil-a I can eat. Although I think doing the 8+ hour drive by myself means I earn some waffle fries.
