My Week(41) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, August 13th, 2011

Despite only being actually hung over for about 20 minutes on Saturday (Bob Harper’s workout sweat the booze right out of me) I’ve been BlogHer hung over ALL WEEK. Having to care for other people’s needs is exhausting, y’all. So is laundry, cooking, cleaning and keeping up with my other commitments. I need a maid. Or at least a nanny.

Sunday:

Obligatory over the wing shot from my plane ride

Ground from the plane

Yeah, sorry, all I did was fly. Unless you want to see a picture of the giant cheeseburger I scarfed down.

Monday:

Real life can't stop me from rocking the "Internets! Hell yea!" tattoo

Little Evan's newest trick is lining stuff up

I missed this face like WHOA

Tuesday:

GET YOUR FILTHY FALL CANDY OFF MY GROCERY STORE SHELVES. (Also, mmmm...mallow pumpkins)

A 5 minute grocery store trip with two kids is actually a 45 minute grocery store trip

Heirloom tomatoes from the CSA. Tomorrow they're going into pasta with goat cheese and herb butter. And then into my MOUTH.

My dad's job brought him to Connecticut so Little Evan got a suprise bedtime story with Bampa

Wednesday:

I came home with a suitcase full of stuffed animals for Little Evan - and my husband makes them all obsolete with one stupid angry bird.

My children are confused

Yes, please climb on my face.

Thursday:

First time I made it to Stroller Strides all week...and instead of doing sit ups I lay on the ground taking pictures. Am Lazy.

Don't even THINK about making me share this plum.

In bed, lights out, before 10. It felt FANTASTIC.

 Friday:

New favorite game: Caroline rides the bouncy seat like a surfboard while Little Evan bounces it. They made it up/play it all on their own. These children will be the death of me.

Nursing in public. I am SCANDALOUS.

True fact: of all the free stuff I got at BlogHer, one of my favorites was the rosemary Wasa flatbreads. I'm a weirdo. So I bought more.

Things she ate for dinner and are on her face: grapes, corn tortillas, fruit leather, bbq chicken pizza, fig newton. ALL OF THOSE.

Saturday:

Party dresses: they're not JUST for parties!

And then mama bought THIS MUCH stuff at Target!

Cheating on Caroline with my friend Amanda's 7 week old baby. SO TINY.

And now I am exhausted so I’m going to try to sneak in a nap.

My Week(39) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, July 30th, 2011

Sunday:

Lazy parenting 101: Babies love feet

Lazy Parenting 102: Beach balls rarely break things in the house

Lazy Parenting 201: Forget that strawberries are one of those food you're maybe not supposed to give an infant. Infant is fine.

Monday:

Don't worry, children, you won't be trapped inside today

Lake Compounce!

Now he needs a teeny tiny leather jacket

If I had remembered to bring my knitting, this traffic would have been a lot less annoying. For me. E was driving.

Tuesday:

Angry Birds on the iPad

Angry Birds in real life. They're scary.

Demanding we walk down to see the vegetables at Town Farm

So I fed him to a pit bull. Just kidding. Big Boy is a very nice dog.

Wednesday:

I feel like this is the first of countless versions of this EXACTLY picture

Watcha doin' mama? Can I play? Can I can I can I?

Get me out! I think he's gonna poop!

Thursday:

Jazz Hands!

Hanging at the lake, stuffing pickled cabbage into his face. You know, normal toddler stuff.

Caroline is "pre-loving" the projects I'm knitting

Friday:

Hotness. Literally, it was really hot & I was at Stroller Strides.

Awesome lunch: homemade black bean & corn salsa, avocado and crab in a sundried tomato wrap. Low fat & SUPER filling.

Hung out at the yarn shop all day & managed to finish my shawl

Saturday:

YARD SALE YARD SALE! It looked promising but whoever priced all the junk seems to think "old and broken" meant the same thing as "pricess antique"

My friend Miranda blogged about these, so when I saw them on clearance I HAD to buy them.

I got my hair trimmed, and then took this picture with the AC blowing in my face for maximum Cosmo cover effect. Ask me for my 10 tips to make your crush think about you while he's on vacation!

Whoa, three pictures of myself? What is this, The Suzanne Show? I promise next week I’ll focus more on the ginger babies because that’s what you come here for. Oh, wait, that’s a total lie because this is the week I ABANDON MY CHILDREN so I can go pretend I am a Fancy Business Woman in the Blogging Industry with Influence Over Important Things Who Also Wears High Heels and Earrings. (More accurate title: super awkward scaredy pants mom of two whose only goal is not to throw up on anyone for any reason.) But AFTER I get back from San Diego I’ll be taking so many pictures of the babies you’ll practically feel like you live with them too.

My Week(38) in iPhone Photos

Sunday, July 24th, 2011

Wow, internets, I’ve been ignoring you like crazy. But when it’s 104 degrees for a zillion days in a row, we’re too busy trying to keep cool and hiding in our air conditioned bedroom to do anything blog-worthy. I barely even took enough pictures to do my weekly post, but after THIRTY EIGHT weeks I’m not gonna miss one now!

Sunday:

My super glamorous life: reading books and pumping breastmilk

I let the cats out of the basement but it was too hot so they sulked around for an hour before going back down

Monday:

Colored ice cubes at playgroup

Chubby leg nap

E is still taking a photography class, so he takes a lot of random pictures

Tuesday:

Getting ready for our monthday photoshoot

Official spray bottle holder at Stroller Strides

Veggies at our CSA pickup

Wednesday:

Getting ready for a day full of...nothing

This game is called "bebeh drive boat" and it is Little Evan's FAVORITE

Getting my craft on with beads and ribbon

Big girl can stand all by herself

Thursday:

North Lake, on the SubBase. It was PERFECT for the kids - Evan loved it.

Caroline loved the sand. Especially eating it.

So, I bought this. And I did it. It is...not so good. I'm hoping it fades.

Friday:

What, don't you sleep with a tiny light saber?

Poor choices

I went to Hot Topic. I felt really, really old and uncool.

Whoever did this to the toys at the craft store is full of win.

Star Trek on the iPad, knitting myself a summer shawl. I am the world's most confused dork.

Saturday:

I got free deoderant from the internet.

Day on the boat included a trip to the secret marina in Gales Ferry

The marble game! We will teach you to play, but E will yell at you for doing it wrong.

We already had an adventure today involving sunflowers, a hayride and ice cream, and tomorrow E took the day off for a SUPER fun family trip. Tons of pictures coming soon, but right now I need a nap. Summer is exhausting!

My Week(36) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, July 9th, 2011

Sunday:

We went up to Plymouth, Mass to see E's family. Helloooooo lunch.

The Massachusetts relatives live in an old Cape a block from the beach that's FULL of fantastic antiques like this stuff, but still super casual and beachy. I have house envy.

TOTAL MELTDOWN on the way home was temporarily calmed with Mama's iPad.

Monday:

Delicious, healthy, Weight Watchers approved breakfast to start our Super! Fun! Day! at the Seaport!

And then this happened.

Hanging out in bed at 7 pm. Because I am lame. Literally.

Tuesday:

I put the toddler to work cleaning the house while I lay on the couch.

Nursing bebeh, sexy hospital sock

Wednesday:

That, my friends, is an empty laundry basket because my husband did all the laundry while I was injured.

Our nephew came to visit & entertain the baby

Then we entertained him with the Kinect (while wearing Evan's baby sunglasses of course)

Thursday:

Caroline watching The Colbert Report.

Maybe if I hide my new shoes behind E's stuff he won't notice!

I bought this dress at Target. It is very very comfortable and possibly makes me look pregnant.

Friday:

Are we ever going to leave this DAMN HOUSE?

Roasted sweet potatos for the baby. Note: 22 minutes is too long - they turn into mush and she can't grab them.

Bebeh toooooooes

Now I have TWO kids who keep trying to take my iPhone

Saturday:

Finally made it to the Seaport & Little Evan got to ride on a boat

Look what I got it in mail! More Uff Da goodness to add to my collection. I mean CAROLINE'S collection.

I found a local consignment shop. I am in love. These were SIX DOLLARS.

My ankle/foot/leg is feeling much better, thanks for all your well wishes and questions – and a HUGE thanks to my husband for letting me sit on the couch for 2 full days so I could let it heal. I’m still not going to be running for a while (or even walking very fast) but I think I can get back to my normal life on Monday.  I’m also going to have to get back to Pennywise in Mystic, the FABULOUS consignment store I finally visited today while I sent the rest of the family down to the Seaport. It’s a small shop but totally packed with awesome finds – besides the polka-dot Steve Madden wedges, I got a pair of super comfy black heels (also $6), a cool swingy tunic top ($9) and another bright colored maxi dress with pockets ($18). I was really excited Pennywise had lots of stuff in my (spoken: large-ish) size – normally there’s an abundance of tiny clothes but nothing to fit over my boobs. Now we’re all taking a little siesta before hitting the river for a little afternoon boating. I hope your weekend is going as well as mine!

My Week (35) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, July 2nd, 2011

Sunday:

Waiting patiently on the stairs for daddy to get out of the bathroom.

HUGS!

He was SO GOOD during dinner, we actually enjoyed ourselves.

Monday:

Nooooo! Don't try to take off my Elmo PJ's!

Playing a new game called "Here's a swiffer cloth, go clean the walls"

Mommy's sunglasses are the best.

Tuesday:

As much fun as yogurt painting at playgroup was, it might make breakfasts a little messy.

I was doing push-ups over her face and she laughed at me. Way to be supportive BABY.

The big girls babysat for me after Stroller Strides. They are SO good with her.

Wednesday:

I got the spot. It makes me UNREASONABLY angry when people use it as a handicapped spot. There are LOTS of handicapped spots so don't take my ONE customers with infants spot.

OMG WHAT?! Sitting up like a big girl!? No way!

I made it to knitting group but managed to NOT buy every single one of these.

Thursday:

Minus the legs, she LOVES the play table.

Swinging siblings

He calls them his "Fast Shoes" - 50% off at Target, FINALLY

Friday:

Five billion organic, all natural toys and she likes the plastic dollar store ball and Evan's dirty sandal.

At Stroller Strides. I was supposed to be doing crunches, but instead was enjoying the sunshine.

It took a while, but he warmed up to the boat. Not so much the life jacket.

Saturday:

Are you kidding me with this hugging thing?

Banana hair. Someone should market it as the ultimate holding gel.

This was AFTER I cut a bunch to fill all my vases. Love this bush.

It’s a looooong weekend for all of us and we’ve got big, fun plans with water and sunshine and family and beaches and more. It’s going to take a LOT of sunscreen to keep us all from getting deep fried, but it’s going to be worth it. There’s also a pretty good chance I’m going to totally blow my brand new diet in the very first week – but calories on holidays don’t count, right?
