My Week(158) in iPhone Photos

Sunday, November 10th, 2013

I have a pain in my right side that I don’t THINK is an internal organ exploding, but if it could be. What I’m saying is, if you don’t see me on Facebook or Instagram at all tomorrow, maybe text me?

Devil’s Hopyard – either it was named after the time the devil was seen jumping around in the pools at the bottom of the falls or after a landowner named Dobble who had a farm near there.

Fall in a cookie – pumpkin, hazelnut spread, butterscotch chips. Unfortunately I don’t really like butterscotch and E doesn’t like pumpkin, so we can’t tell if these are actually delicious.

I secretly just want to sleep all day tomorrow, but we’re doing more fun stuff instead. Maybe I can sleep all day on the second of never. I’ve got a date with the elliptical trainer on Tuesday and that’s almost as good as napping. Especially because of the massage bed afterwards.

My Week(154) in iPhone Photos

Monday, October 14th, 2013

My excuse for being so late is “The Holiday Weekend Confuses Me Every Time”. Just ask the poor cashier and Big Y who wasn’t quite sure how to handle me falling to my knees and shouting “Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!” when I asked why the beer curtain was down on a Saturday (it was Sunday).

Do I need to explain “beer curtain”? Is that a thing anywhere else?

Despite his face, he was very happy to be there.

And now I chain myself to the couch for the next week to catch up on my work. I might stay up way past my bedtime to get some personal editing done too, since I FINALLY dressed up my family and tried for some Christmas card shots of our own but owe photos to 6 other families first. Once again, NOT COMPLAINING, being busy is the best thing ever. I just need to get faster…and maybe turn off my internet connection so I can’t get distracted while I work. Stupid Candy Crush.

Back in the photo session saddle again, which means my iPhone is feeling pretty neglected. The kids actually ASKED me to take their picture this week. It’s a miracle!

Very nice, Connecticut. I approve.

The weather has been abnormally warm all week – even if it did rain today – so the fall colors still haven’t peaked. Good news for next weekend’s photo sessions! And maybe I’ll even have time to take some of my OWN family pictures before Christmas. Miracles do happen! Except it hasn’t happened yet, so don’t hold your breath.

More real blog posts coming soon! Like super soon. Less than 12 hours from now. I have to much to catch up on.

My Week(152) in iPhone Photos

Monday, September 30th, 2013

This post is late and I got less than 3 hours of sleep in the last 24 hours and I barely remember how I got home from the airport last night and Caroline is sitting on my lap with her slightly terrifying My Little Pony Equestria Girl introducing her to all the princess dolls and I have 5 photo sessions to edit so what I’m saying is if this post makes none sense don’t be surprised.

Atlanta was really pretty

Step 1 in getting back to my real life: write down all the stuff on the calendar I’ve been ignoring because it was “in October” and “October is a really long time from now”.  Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh <–  the sound I just made looking at the stack of papers from the kids’ schools talking about open house nights and PTO meetings and pizza parties. Back to work!

My Week(150) in iPhone Photos

Sunday, September 15th, 2013

And Daddy reads to the gingers

I had forgotten how nice it was to have someone to help with bedtimes or go out to dinner with or help wrangle the kids at the apple orchard. I know I’m not a single parent – NOT EVEN CLOSE – but doing all the parenting on a day to day basis was really starting to wear me down. But a week of school and TWO meals out (not to mention a beach day where the kids built sand castles while I read a magazine) plus seeing my husband enough times that our conversation didn’t go like this: “HiIhavetobebackatworkinsixhoursbutIneededtotellyouIamoutofdeoderantandalso
canyoufindmykhakihatIloveyougoodnightzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.”

I don’t have a lot of hope the next week will be as nice, but I have two super fun things coming up (a Saturday in NYC with the kids and THREE DAYS in Atlanta without the kids) that are going to make September just totally fly by.
