Wordless Wednesday: Last Days of Fall

Wednesday, November 12th, 2014

Some mom friends and I took the kids down to Bluff Point for a hike since we didn’t have school on Tuesday. 5 moms and 11 kids. When we got to the beach all the big kids went off on an adventure while the babies hung out on the sand and ate rocks. It was so nice to be out of the house in the fresh (warm) air ALL DAY…plus the gingers all slept amazingly well last night.

My Week(210) in iPhone Photos

Monday, November 10th, 2014

Late late late late late. But we spent ALL day Sunday out of the house and I spent all day today finishing all my photography stuff so I am completely caught up! Now maybe I can blog this week! Or maybe I’ll just say that and not do it again. That seems more likely.

Sunday:

sunday1

Waiting in the ER is a lot easier with technology

sunday2

Not impressed with my wrap skills or the tape on his head.

sunday3

I am not the only one who loves wraps

Monday:

monday1

I sold this one, pretty much thanks to this picture

monday2

Beautiful evening light…at 3 pm.

monday3

CHEEKS

Tuesday:

tuesday1

Yes mother, that is a very nice fancy teether. Now if only I knew how to PUT IT IN MY MOUTH.

tuesday2

I can’t be mad about the mess when they’re practicing their words

tuesday3

Brother time

Wednesday:

wednesday1

I was too sick to wear the baby, so we did the grocery-pile-on-the-carseat method

wednesday2

All we did. All day.

wednesday3

My mail lady leaves treats for the dog

Thursday:

thursday1

One of the last buildings left at the old hospital is being torn down (taken from a stopped car at a stop light, I’m not dumb enough to do it while driving).

thursday2

Back floats

thursday3

I am the worst, because I forgot the iPad and she had to just SIT while her brother had swim.

Friday:

friday1

Parenting win: taking the kids to a friend’s house to let them bounce while I watch from inside the warm house.

friday2

Then the friends came over for pizza and wine. NAILED IT, FRIDAY NIGHT.

friday3

DUCK JAMS

Saturday:

saturday1

Never ending Halloween candy

saturday2

Linc found his toes

saturday3

One last sleeping baby

I spent a LOT of time under that baby this week. Usually I try to get stuff done while I sleeps but I felt TERRIBLE for the first half of the week and was busy catching up and seeing friends the second half, so nothing got done. Thank God for antibiotics and Netflix. I cannot believe it is already the second week of November. I refuse to do anything Christmasy until after Thanksgiving, but now I’m worried I’ll wake up and it will suddenly be mid-December and I won’t even have noticed. Why is 2014 going so fast?!

Kiawah 2014

Wednesday, October 15th, 2014

Oh, the beach house. Why can’t real life be like the beach house?

If you haven’t been reading for years, the beach house belongs to the uncle of one of my friends. He allows us to borrow it once a year for a long weekend. It has 6 bedrooms, each with their own private bath, a huge kitchen, 3 wine fridges, a fully stocked (with alcohol) butler’s pantry, every TV channel ever, a deck and private pool, and beach access to an always deserted private beach. Everything about the beach house is nicer than my own house, including the dishes and beds and beach toys. There is a planter full of herbs that grows on the deck, so if you need fresh basil for dinner it’s right there. The towels and sheets are color coded to the bedrooms, so the cleaning service can put them all back in the right place when we leave. I imagine the beach house is what life is like for celebrities every day.

This year we went from three kids at the beach house to SIX kids at the beach house, ranging in age from 2 months (Linc!) to five years (Evan!). The number of adults actually fell. The weather wasn’t very good and I only made it down to the actual beach once and I drove alone for two days each way to get there AND my car broke down 10 miles from Kiawah…but it was still an amazing vacation.

The beach house is lucky. It turned out my car just had a dead battery, the baby slept through the night, and my often-missing husband even made it to the house for a very brief visit. It was so great to see my friends and talk about life and jobs and changes and babies. We’re already planning for next year’s trip (and saving up for a nanny, since we’ll have 6 actual kids, rather than 3 and 3 babies). I can’t wait.

My Week(203) in iPhone Photos

Sunday, September 21st, 2014

This week was seriously insane. I tried to jump back in to work all at once and ended up really, really tired. Plus I think I pinched a nerve in my back. Also I have a weird lump under my armpit that is definitely not a plugged duct. I don’t think. Basically, I’m falling apart. But I got a new iPhone, so this week gets an A+ anyway.

Sunday:

Saturday:

Best view in the world

saturday2

In looooove with that crib, especially because I put it together all myself.

saturday3

This was amazing.

This weekend was rough. On Saturday I actually made the kids go back to bed and start the day over. They both napped for 2 hours and then we went to a festival, where everyone was well behaved and we had a nice time. Sunday was rough all over again. I like school days. Thank God the week is full of them.
