My Week(52) in iPhone Photos

Sunday, October 30th, 2011

I bet you’ve been waiting anxiously to see my official 1 year of iPhone photos post. I know it’s the most exciting part of your weekend. Unfortunately, it’s hard to type when my hands are full of mini powdered donuts, so I had to eat ALL of the ones left over from yesterday’s party before I got to today’s blogging. Don’t worry, they’re all in a better place now. Let the photo posting begin!

Sunday:

NOM PIZZA NOM NOM

NOM CUPCAKE NOM NOM

Thank goodness it was a padded room

Monday:

Caroline's new favorite thing is forts and/or anything that sort of looks like a fort. FOOOOORT!!!

"Uh oh mama! Fall denoun!" "No sweetie, you threw them."

Picture frames for the party

Hungry baby eats her own hand

Bathtime rave

Tuesday:

It was so scenic at the park for Stroller Strides it made me kind of nauseous. SO SCENIC. BLAH.

Party prep - sugar cookies!

She's adorable, even with snot on her face.

Shopping with my Kate Spade and my Dunkin Donuts is so much more pleasant that two screaming kids.

Good dog doesn't eat the toys even when forced to lie on them.

Wednesday:

More party prep - tiny pumpkins!

Sharing siblings are the best kind of siblings.

So, do you come here often?

Nice quiet knitting + gossiping with friends = my favorite night of the week

Thursday:

Mama, can I borrow your shoes?

Weight Watchers suggests making mini cupcakes to satisfy sweet cravings. I think we have different definitions of "satisfy".

Time to break out the slippers for the cold winter floors.

Friday:

Because OF COURSE the day your houseguests come is the day you should clean the toybox

The top blankie is MY baby blankie. I still love it.

MESS. It never real got better. Sorry party guests!

Me & Erin. We met on the first day of college and now have toddlers only 3 months apart. Isn't that the best?

Saturday:

Having 12 toddlers in my house suddenly made having 1 toddler and 1 baby seem SUPER EASY.

Tiny cheesecakes from my friend Heather. I think she's trying to make me fatter.

Four people in this picture think they are playing Kinect on the XBox. Only two of them actually are.

There you go! 52 full weeks of iPhone photos, which means I’ve unintentionally and successfully completed one of those 365-photo-challenges I never start because I’m terrible at follow through. TAKE THAT SELF. I DID IT.

For the record, the chair from my first week in iPhone photos is still sitting on my front porch. Oops.

My Week(43) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, August 27th, 2011

It’s amazing how even a really challenging week looks so nice in iPhone photos. Do not be fooled by these posts.

Sunday:

Before I had kids, I never thought going to the grocery store alone would be considered a good time.

This is what went into that galette I made

Daddy's idea of playing with the baby

Monday:

Playground after Stroller Strides

LARGE iced Dunkin' Dark with skim milk and 3 Splenda

I think we need a bigger toy box. Or FEWER TOYS.

Tuesday:

Hi hi hi hi hi hi! Watcha doin????

Battle wounds from an asphalt vs. face fight. Poor baby.

He looks pretty happy for someone getting Taco Bell for dinner.

Wednesday:

I may have overreacted to it being just SLIGHTLY chilly that morning

Flowers & stripes

I ended up buying this outfit, mostly because the kids started SCREAMING and I felt guilty about making such a spectacle and leaving empty handed.

E had hockey so I had my own private knit night at home instead of going to the shop. Much less fun.

Thursday:

Thank God for baby gates. HAHA YOU CAN'T TOUCH ME NOW.

Lockup has turned her into a hardened criminal. Obviously.

Fiona Baby Sundress (pattern from Ravely)

Friday:

Ready to go to Stroller Strides

Presents in the mail. People like me!

Nursing the baby now comes with a risk of being kicked in the face

Bread aisle at Target. I guess people are taking this hurricane thing seriously.

Saturday:

Laughing cow wedges on toast

Back off woman, I'm just trying to watch WonderPets!

Concerned dog looks concerned, but our fronch porch has been cleared and we're ready for whatever Mother Nature throws at us.

So there isn’t much going on this weekend, besides waiting to see if Irene hits us. We’re directly in the path but our house is in an area safe from flooding and they aren’t talking about evacuating for any other reason. I’m a teeny tiny bit worried about our big tree falling down – apparently there used to be a matching tree on the other side of the house. It fell down during the LAST hurricane – but there’s nothing I can do to prevent high winds so I’m trying to use my energy on more important things, like taking a nap and baking cookies. I hope all my East Coast friends stay safe – and the rest of you enjoy the nice weather our hurricane is giving you!

My Week(26) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, April 30th, 2011

Sunday:

We enjoyed the nice weather (p.s. I do not live here)

And walked down the block to Easter services

Caroline enjoyed her Easter dress

And I enjoyed at least 7 of these scones

Monday:

Well, that's a new way to go down the slide

First swing! She looks underwhelmed.

Rushed the stupid dog to the vet because he ran in the street & got hit by a car. He's so totally fine the vet thought I was imagining things.

Tuesday:

Want to make a 2 year old go somewhere? Tell him there are kitties. KITTY! KIIIIIIIITTYYYYYYY!!!

Someone is excited about the spring weather.

60% off baby! I should have bought the whole box.

Wednesday:

Well, if you're that tired try sleeping later than 5:30. OKAY BABY?

Big boy reading in his big boy bed when I came to get him in the morning

The giant cart came in handy when we found the half price bunny. I put it (and the pink version) in a box for next Easter. AM GENIUS.

It's about time he earned his keep around here. I pay him in cereal.

WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT SLEEPING IN?!?

Thursday:

Well, yes, that's sleeping. Technically.

OK, more sleeping. Except I took this at Stroller Strides so I was NOT sleeping.

Naked baby time while Mama stuffed diapers for the switch to cloth

Friday:

Yes, I watched the royal wedding but only because THE BABY wanted to get up. It's not like I set my alarm or something.

OK, so I set my alarm. But how could I miss THIS?!

New best toddler distraction ever: buckets & water.

Maybe I shouldn't whine so much about the sleeping.

Saturday:

CEREAL. MOOOOOORE!!! MORE CEREAAAAAAAL!!!!

I had a super healthy breakfast omlet so I wouldn't feel bad about the fried seafood at lunch. It worked.

Mystic Seaport. In the words of the toddler: BOAT BOAT BOAT BOAT BOAT!

Days like this I am so happy we live in New England.

And now it’s Saturday afternoon and we’re home with 2 napping babies and plans to visit the hardware store (and hopefully I can talk E into some Chili’s for dinner). If we get REALLY fancy we might go dig up some rocks in the back yard. MY LIFE IS SO GLAMOROUS. And you know what? I totally think it’s awesome.

Easter Pics

Tuesday, April 26th, 2011

You will only care about this post if
a) You are my kids looking back on their “baby book” someday
b) You are weirdly obsessed with boring pictures of children
c) You are my mother

Please enjoy.

Peanut butter egg pleeeez! (He actually didn't like it)

I hope your family had a happy Easter too!

My Week(25) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, April 23rd, 2011

Sunday:

We have pretty lax house rules on Sundays

We put on pants long enough to hit up Target

And acted like mature adults at BJ's

Monday:

For the first time in 25 weeks, I have NO pictures from a day. I was too sick to care if my kid wore clothes or ate anything besides jelly beans, which means I was definitely too sick to carry my phone around taking snapshots of things like the doctor’s office or the back of my eyelids.

Tuesday:

I was still sick so I asked Brutus to babysit

I don't think he's going to say yes next time

I braved taking both kids to the ped for Caroline's 4 months check-up, and Little Evan was the best behaved 2 year old ever

Wednesday:

I spent an hour looking for just the right thing to make with this yarn but haven't found it yet

Little Evan put boots in one bag and shoes in the other and told me BAH-BYEEE!

Caroline is shocked he wants to leave. "But they have so much MILK here!"

Thursday:

This face was because I wouldn't let him ACTUALLY put on mascara instead of pretend to put on mascara. It was a rough morning.

But things got better after some orange slices and water in a big boy cup

Brutus was thrilled there was finally a patch of sunlight to lie in

Friday:

The Evan's check out the touch tank at the aquarium, where we had a playdate with bloggy friends!

I taught Caroline to stick out her tounge when I stick out mine

Evan and I took a super fun solo-trip to (shocking) Target at BJ's. I love going places with JUST ONE kid.

Saturday:

We went to Home Depot to look at paving stones, but it was POURING & the stone were outside

Caroline modeled one of her new headbands

And a onesie to celebrate her first Easter

The rest of Saturday we hid inside, partly from the rain, partly because Little Miss Caroline is teething and NO ONE wants to hear the noise she makes when her teeth are bothering her. I am seriously considering buying earplugs. Tomorrow I get to surprise the kids with Easter Baskets, whip up a batch of cheddar-rosemary scones and head over to a wonderful friend’s house for Easter dinner and toddler play time.

Amy’s busy planning for Parker’s big 1st birthday so there’s no linky today. But hopefully we’ll be back next Saturday!

Linky is up! Better late than never!
