I have a weekend hangover from trying to do lots of fun stuff today. It’s not alcohol-related. It’s dehydrations/exhaustion/pregnancy related. Because this is just my life now. No drinking, but all the worst side-effects.

I am going to celebrate the summer solstice by sending all of my children to bed early, enjoying a long bath, and taking the maximum amount of Tylenol allowed before I put myself to bed. Hopefully tomorrow I will feel more like a capable human than a swollen pregnant monster.

I had a really busy weekend, especially today, and I’ve been able to mostly avoid the news and the internet. Not enough to miss what’s been going on, but enough that I haven’t let myself think about how sad I am for our country and the world my children are growing up in. Mostly I’m just going to keep the kids away from as much reality as possible so they can continue to live in a world  where we only use kind words and problems can be solved with hugs.

I actually couldn’t handle looking at vacation pictures yesterday when I was supposed to do this, because it was dreary and pouring rain and my house was a disaster and my children made me insane and basically it was too depressing to think that THIS is my life versus the beach. But today I am facing reality. At least until Friday. Then school is out and we can pretend life is all just vacation again.

Did I mention this is the LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL? I’m feeling a little unprepared for summer (who is going to feed these kids all day?) but I’m so ready to not get up at 6:15 every morning. Plus summer is exhausting, so EVERYONE will do more sleeping. More sleeping is basically my only goal in life right now at 28 weeks pregnant.

I feel like our week was a lot busier than these photos make it look, but I can’t remember why.

This week is Week 2 Of All The Fall Activities Starting which means we add Judo for Evan. I’m really hoping it helps with his ability to focus on something OTHER than an iPad and maybe control his body a little bit more when it comes to school. So now we’re up to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday activities. Next week we add swim.

My hope is eventually we’ll all be so tired we sleep 12 hours a night every night. I am totally up for a 6 pm bedtime.

The kids went back to school this week, which mean my photos are going to be Linc-heavy for next…forever.

I am SO happy to have the kids back at school, even though school brings a whole new level of stress and deadlines and homework and one zillion pieces of paper that need my attention. They need the structure of school and the friends and the break from me (and my often short temper) right now. I figure by Christmas we’ll all be super excited to hang out together again. Right now I’m just going to enjoy the crap out of my one tiny baby who can’t talk back.

And if I say “Christmas” again before December, please punch me in the face.
