My Week(98) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, September 15th, 2012

My week was going really well until Caroline’s accident on Friday. (In case you missed my Tweets/FB updates/Instagrams she fell at the playground and broke her collar bone.) It was pretty traumatic for all of us. It’s also put a damper on our fall plans, our playdate schedule and Caroline’s budding gymnastics career. Poor thing. So we’re taking things easy and cruising right through our Disney DVD collection.

Sunday:

He insisted my boots fit him just fine.

We made it to church! And it didn’t burn down or anything!

I love this stroller but it REALLY NEEDS A CUP HOLDER.

Monday:

MORNING toothbrushing? Whose children are these?

Lion fish are badass

Hi Beluga, I love you.

Tuesday:

Sewing helper! Tuesday was GET THIS DAMN COSTUME DONE Day.

Mostly done…

…THERE’S my magical pixie!!

Wednesday:

Color matching uneven bars foot bean bag toss – he rocked it.

BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY – Caroline

He transferred from a car nap to a couch nap that lasted 3 hours. I have NO IDEA why.

Thursday:

Easily distracted by things in the dirt

22 lb baby vs. 10 lb kettle bell. She is SO STRONG.

Scenic, tragic waterfall

Friday:

I took a picture to commemorate NOT wearing yoga pants.

That slide in the background is what she fell off the top of, 2 minutes after I took this photo.

Sponge Bob in the ER – I hate the damn show but it certainly kept Evan quiet for 2 hours.

Saturday:

The patient demanded a popsicle for breakfast, the patient gets a popsicle.

Tired from a day of doing…nothing.

Cheerful enough for a bath. Thank goodness, she was covered in popsicle.

So if you need me, I’ll be over here feeling like the world’s worst mom. Good times.

My Week(97) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, September 8th, 2012

I seriously don’t even REMEMBER the beginning of this week, it’s been so busy. Which is good, since I’m still solo-parenting these munchkins and the more I wear them out the easier bedtimes are. You will notice a distinct lack of couch naps in this week’s photos.

Sunday:

Those are my children, that is not our stroller.

Hockey Fans

Why don’t pirates eat peanut butter sandwiches? Because they can’t open the jAAAAAAARRRRRRGH!

Monday:

Adorable tunnel vision

Too much cute on one swing

Obsessed with Chuck the Truck

Tuesday:

She’s worried about falling behind now that Evan is in school, so she’s working on her math skills.

TOO MANY PICTURES, MOM.

Cart safety experts!

Wednesday:

Tiny gymnast

Practicing his balance beam skills in the real world

Gorgeous evening for a walk

Thursday:

Are you done Mom? School is way more exciting than you.

This Paleo thing makes grocery shopping interesting.

Modeling the latest knitting fashions during our yarn store playdate

Friday:

Visiting her friends at the duck pond. “HAI DUCKS! KACK KACK!”

My view of Friday’s playdate. I guess my kids are over there somewhere.

I’m pretty much useless these days.

Saturday:

Ferris Wheel stink eye

Skeptical of a guy holding a frog

I think it’s time to move the kitchen stool

And now it’s 8:15 on Saturday night, I’m in my jammies and eating cheese like it’s my job. We have ANOTHER full day tomorrow followed by a week of our new, busy lives and I sort of feel like I’m going to blink and it will be Christmas so I better start planning even MORE fall things to do but I’m pretty sure if I try I actually will keel over from exhaustion. True story: I fell asleep sitting up on the couch today and woke up to Evan shouting from the bathroom to come wipe his butt. Exciting days, y’all.

My Week(94) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, August 18th, 2012

I’m not going to lie, things are not going great around here. We see E for less than an hour a day (which will happen every day for at least the next 36 days) but to see him at ALL means we have to skip our morning activities. Caroline has decided napping is for the birds, but so is going to bed before 8 pm (those last 2 hours in the evening are ROUGH). And Evan is still three, which means he recently learned the word “attitude” – literally, he now tells me all about his attitude – and I’m about ready to sell him to the circus. Our week felt a bit like Groundhog Day – the same things over and over and over – so I’m REALLY looking forward to the end of this coming week, when we head off to Long Island for an end of summer adventure.

Sunday:

Exhausted from a weekend with friends, THANK GOD.

HAHA JAY KAY MOM! I’m not exhausted I’m trying to give you a heart attack!

Hand washing device aka drinking fountain

Monday:

Fish through a fish-eye lens are fun

Giant Oreo cupcake is no match for two toddlers

Then I almost killed myself trying to do C25K Week 5 with a stroller on a hilly path.

Tuesday:

Cheeeeeese!

Filling out pre-k applications for NEXT year. Cross your fingers (it’s a lottery).

Dream big, little ginger

Wednesday:

I asked her to put her jammies in the laundry basket. At least she followed directions?

That blur in the middle is Evan jumping off the tumble track all on his own for the very first time!

Not impressed with BJ’s

Thursday:

Oh no it’s a ghost! A friendly ghost – It goes “woooooo!” and tries to tickle you.

Evan is obsessed with his shadow. Time to watch Peter Pan, I think.

Those popsicles were a mistake.

Friday:

So happy to be back at Stroller Strides!

Sharing!!!

I’m starting a diet challenge in 2 weeks. Guess I better order BOTH of these sandwiches NOW!

Saturday:

He says this is much more comfortable. Whatever.

Me: That’s you Caroline! The baby in the pictures is you! Caroline: *mind blown*

After ALL THIS she still refused to nap.

In case that last picture isn’t clear, it’s Caroline in MY BED with two dollies, two blankies, two stuffed mice, her water, her baby laptop, her sound/light machine AND Daddy’s iPad. She insisted I drag it all up to my room and then lay in bed talking to herself for 90 minutes (even after I turned off the iPad). It was a really long day. So now I’m going to bed – good thing I never took off my pajamas! – and hoping we can get out of the house tomorrow for something that takes a LOT of toddler energy.

I’m guessing since Amy had a baby (!!!!!!!) this week, the linky will be off for a while. But feel free to leave links to your iphone posts in my comments, I love looking at them!

My Week(81) in iPhone Photos

Sunday, May 20th, 2012

I picked the funniest photos as an apology for not getting this up sooner. My only excuse is I was busy watching all 24 episodes in season 8 of Grey’s Anatomy this weekend. I somehow forgot to watch all year until Twitter BLEW UP during the finale. Now all I can say is WHAT THE HELL, GREY’S?

Sunday:

Family hockey practice - I'm sitting in a chair drinking coffee, obviously

SHUT UP AND GET IN MY FACE, CAKE.

Obviously really excited about the twinkle lights

Monday:

I cut Evan's beautiful hair without crying.

Apparently a haircut was all he needed to be a BIG KID

Raise your hand if you're the cutest person here!

Tuesday:

Stroller Strides stretching!

Mini Gene Kelly

We had a really rough afternoon, so as long as they weren't crying I let them do whatever they wanted.

Wednesday:

See? I left the giant pile of clean laundry there ON PURPOSE so my kid could use the iPad in comfort. WISE CHOICES.

That blur is one really happy gymnast

I don't even have a caption for this face

Tiny baby reading a tiny book = GIANT SWOON

Thursday:

The narrator on this dinosaur app reads like he's doing the trailer for a Michael Bay movie.

WHEEEEEE!

I look way less cute when I nap on my face

Judge all you want, this pizza is DELICIOUS. I'm going to judge you for NOT eating it.

Friday:

And now he's 80 years old.

Mommy, the porch is my favorite.

Finally the kids are up someone else's butt.

Saturday:

Barking at the sea-lion

Back off you crazy lady, leave us the duck alone!

Being three is awesome.

And now I am going to collapse in bed knowing my mother has an update on her grandchildren and I’ve ruined Evan’s chance of ever getting a date with that rainboot/underwear pictures. Another super busy week coming up with a bonus holiday weekend at the end of it!

My Week(79) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, May 5th, 2012

We did some stuff this week. And some other stuff. Honestly, I can’t even remember right now, so it’s a good thing I have a whole bunch of pictures to remind me!

Sunday:

We left Rochester early early to get home and pick up Brutus

Holding hands while watching TV

Giving bedtime the side eye

Monday:

Doing his stretches after Stroller Strides

He thinks putting his socks on his hands is the HEIGHT of entertainment

Uh, someone took my shirt off during nap. I'm not saying who.

Tuesday:

I'm thinking of getting a fish tattoo. This one might be cool.

Watching the sea lion show like Big Kids

Suspicious spy toddler is suspicious of spies

Wednesday:

How YOU doin'?

Oh look, I bought seed to kill

Horrifying dental tools of DOOM (I got a cavity filled)

We had to go do a quality control check on the new Five Guys in town. They passed.

Thursday:

He was mad I wasn't scared when he jumped out of the closet

Doing art while he waits for the dentist

LASERS!!!!!!!!

Friday:

Our attempt at a self portrait was foiled by the super bright flash

Sleepface

May the Fourth be with you!

Saturday:

"Weeding" my garden is more like "cutting down a jungle" in my garden

VERY EXCITED to be going to the dump

VERY EXCITED about goldfish. Also about her adorable romper, because OMG ROMPER.

Luckily, now no one needs to see a doctor or dentist for at least 6 months and we can use our time to do more fun stuff like playdates in Mystic and visiting the Seaport and using our NEW zoo membership at Roger Williams Park Zoo. That is, if it ever stops raining. Although this is perfect nap weather so many I’ll just…close my…eyes…for a…secon……zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
