My Week(110) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, December 8th, 2012

I was transferring photos off my phone for this week’s round up and I couldn’t believe it was THIS WEEK that Caroline broke her chin. It feels like a million years ago. Well, except for the part where she had the stitches out on Friday, because the screaming is still echoing in my ears.

Sunday:

Goldfish crackers – Pretty much the same as lidocaine when it comes to relieving chin pain in toddlers

Waitress, this coffee is TERRIBLE.

Get in my face.

Monday:

Wall painters

This pizza place had a bin of toys for the kids. And also really good pizza.

No filter

Tuesday:

Does my fancy hair distract you from my exhausted, dirty face?

Dashing through the family room

Magical winter scene, complete with giant jingle bells and pine cones? Sure!

Wednesday:

No words.

Hanging twinsies

Evan is making that face because Caroline is SCREAMING her head off. The grocery store is torture.

Thursday:

Weirdos.

My favorite and my best cookies

Glow-y

Friday:

Pantsless emergency!!

See my beluga, Mom? DO YOU SEE IT???

Evan acted as photographer while Caroline had her stitches out. There was video too, but I deleted it because OMG WHO WANTS TO RELIVE THAT?!

 Saturday:

Too early for life.

I mean, yeah, it’s gorgeous. But who’s kid could wear that without RUINING it?!

Last of the party prep. NEXT WEEK!!

I have three weeks worth of stuff and three days to do it before my parents get here so the next week is going to be crazy-full. And with E on shift work (AGAIN) I’m doing it all while solo-parenting. I really hope the kids are ready for Elf on repeat. I love smiling, smiling’s my favorite.

My Week(107) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, November 17th, 2012

This morning Caroline was doing push ups – incline push ups, with her feet on the couch and her hands on the floor – and I realized I had been sitting down for like 4 hours straight. So I had a cup of coffee, pounded this out and then went to do something productive. Nothing like an exercising 1 year old to make you feel like a lazy ass.

Sunday:

The kids built steps to reach the clementines. Evil geniuses.

“Mommy, why don’t we have ponies???” “Because your father isn’t Mitt Romney, honey.”

Painting the dining room seemed like such a good idea at the time.

Monday:

Sorry, can’t get up, it would disturb the cat.

We went to terrorize, uh, visit my friend Megan’s yarn store.

I love you, iPhone panoramic thingy.

Tuesday:

When you clean out the toy box, you discover toys you forgot about and it’s like getting NEW TOYS (p.s. My aunt made me that dress when I was a baby)

I got the box closes and we haven’t opened it since. TRUE STORY.

Pretty much how I feel every night by 8 pm.

Wednesday:

Caroline chose to sit on the bench with her blankie instead of doing gymnastics for the first half of class. Then she remembered OH YEAH I LOVE GYMNASTICS.

SUPER GOOD BRAVE BOY at the dentist

Clean teeth make you very tired.

Thursday:

Hmmm…do I look 8 years old today? Yes, I think I do.

What do you mean I can’t do pull ups on the stroller???? I hate you you’re ruining my life!

Cat nap (sorry Instagram friends, I just love this one)

Friday:

Trying to climb into the house

The only time we saw Daddy all week…and he’s leaving for work.

My Friday nights are very exciting.

Saturday:

Insisted on getting up at 6:30 am, only to climb into her brother’s bed and insist it was time to go to sleep. That face says “I DARE YOU TO DISAGREE”

3rd batch of scones in 2 days. Recipe on Tuesday.

Oops?

I can’t believe this week is Thanksgiving already – it’s so early this year! – but I love that I get to enjoy our Christmas decorations for a while longer. I’m crossing all my crossibles that E gets out of shift work in time to help us pick out a tree on Friday (FRIDAY!!!!) and I can’t wait to put up our combination Caroline’s party/holiday stuff. Winter sparkle snowflake woodland fairies FOREVA.

I’ve been doing this for more than 2 years now, and I’m a little sad it seems to be dying out now that Amy handed the linky off to me. My Week(105) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, November 3rd, 2012

Despite a stormy start to the week (and a complete lack of preschool – oh my how I missed preschool) we managed to have a pretty good week.

Sunday:

If our church wasn’t so pretty, I don’t think we would go nearly as often.

I lose a staring contest with this fish.

Who is ever unhappy at Five Guys?

Monday:

The wind was blowing the rain sideways into our screened porch

Windy

Hey, so when can we stop watching the boring news and go play outside instead?

Tuesday:

Weather checker

How do I look?

Time to take the baby cage down

Wednesday:

Oh no! A dragon has invaded gymnastics class!

Look, we caught a fairy!

COME HEEEEERE CHILDREN! WE HAVE CAAAAAANDY!

Thursday:

Block building is all fun and games until someone smashes someone else’s tower

These (in the 3rd floor master bedroom) are the only windows in the house low enough for them to look out of and they’re obsessed.

I swear I feed this child more food than anyone else in the whole house. She just burns ALL THE CALORIES.

Friday:

Boss of the mall hooligans

One of Caroline’s many wonderful friend-helper-playmates #cardigansforever

I like this movie sort of a ridiculous amount

Saturday:

I’ve been buying 3 dozen at a time but keep running out. This is what happens when you give up carbs.

Suspicious of being dragged out in the cold to look at decorative gourds.

A mind-blowing number of decorative gourds. I got some fantastic pictures for Monday.

I spent three full hours running errands blissfully alone on a Saturday – although I had forgotten how crowded everyone is on the weekend. I also forgot how expensive it is to do two weeks worth of grocery shopping at once, and might have had a tiny heart attack at the checkout. This is our last week before E’s schedule goes back to being totallycompletelymiserable for a while, so we’re splurging on doing nothing but enjoying our extra hour of sleep on Sunday. I have it in my head I’m going to brutally clean out of my closet – everything I don’t love goes! – but I suspect I’ll only get as far as putting away half the laundry before I lose interest.

My Week(102) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, October 13th, 2012

It might have been technically fall for a while now (er, maybe? I just asked E when fall started and he didn’t know. If only there was a website where I could ask questions and get instant answers!) but this was the first week that felt like fall. I’m enjoying the crap out of it.

Sunday:

Plaid! Leaves! Headspolsion of autumn!

Most adorable family who walks to church in our town. Possibly the ONLY family, but that’s a technicality.

Wine for mommies, cookies for the kids.

Monday:

Big girl does all her own walking.

Caroline takes fake-boating safety very seriously

She is skeptical that hayrides to feed cows can be considered “fun”.

Tuesday:

This llama is a crazy drama queen, Mommy.

Caroline insisted on a giant pepperoni stick. I already ate it all.

DOES THIS CHILD EVER SMILE???

Wednesday:

There it is! Being upside down does it every time.

Let the Wild Rumpus Start!!

My three favorite tushies.

Thursday:

A little educational iPad time while mommy gets 10 more minutes of sleep.

This crayon is not the right shade of pink for me.

I think we should refloor the kitchen in a lovely hand-hewn cherry.

Friday:

Dancing in the craft store (to the beat of her own drum)

All those unsmiling faces from the previous days ended in three hours of THIS.

Cheap curtains + embroidery hoop = instant play tent.

Today we’re at Sesame Place, hoping to have a lovely magically amazing Halloweeny time despite a loooooong week. Luckily my folks are going to come share in the child-minding fun and mini-roller coaster riding. I heard Elmo does a Sesame Street version of Thriller, which I might be looking forward to a little too much.

My Week(100) in iPhone Photos

Sunday, September 30th, 2012

This might have been one of the most fun weeks ever. Or maybe my memory is skewed by the super fun day we had on Saturday. Also, HOLY COW, I’ve been doing this for one hundred weeks. 700 days. That’s a lot of iPhoning.

Sunday:

Caroline thinks perhaps this is not a good idea.

Proud to be a big brother, especially when his sister’s napping and he doesn’t have to deal with her.

She thinks the fake doll juice is HILARIOUS.

Monday:

Adorable child is adorable.

When do they turn into drooling messes instead of tiny angels when they sleep?

Preschool open house reveals Mommy definitely picked a fancier family photo than any of the other moms.

Tuesday:

If the iPad app is educational, I don’t have to feel bad about sleeping in for 30 minutes, right?

I believe that is called “nom nom nomming”

My 3 year old is a monster.

Wednesday:

My children are so attractive.

Gymnastics prodigy

She’s NOT. EVEN. TWO. YET.

Thursday:

I think this is love, not attempted murder.

Big boy haircut was a mistake. (I WANT MY BAYBEEEE BACK)

No, SERIOUSLY, when do I start worrying my kids might murder someone?

Friday:

Picking up brother from school-face.

Shut up, the Tinkerbell movies are awesome.

Daddy cuddles in a tiny bed

Saturday:

Grand Central Station is Grand.

Chilling out at Playdate In The City

Hiding from the paparazzi at Whole Foods.

It turns out taking 2 kids into NYC is a little bit exhausting, so I spent all of Sunday recovering. Also, someone smashed in my car window to steal my crappy $120 GPS from the train parking lot in New Haven, so I had a teeny tiny little breakdown trying to figure out how to handle it (answer: fill out paperwork for lot attendant, brush glass off seat, drive home with the heat blasting). I’m hoping it doesn’t rain until I can get it fixed. But BESIDES that, the week was all super awesome, so it’s easy to feel very glass-half-full. They didn’t steal the car! Or the car seats! Or any of the other stuff! My kids are adorable and everyone agrees! I really love my life.
