My Week(49) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, October 8th, 2011

E had this past week off, but instead of doing tons of super fun stuff I made a list of every single I-should-really-get-that-done-but-I’m-exhausted-from-chasing-the-kids chore I’ve been putting off for the past 3 years and started crossing them off. Hang pictures! Sort clothes! Organize the attic AND the basement! Get a new eyeglasses prescription! Wind and store all the yarn I’ve been hiding behind the elliptical trainer in the guest room! Do ALL the laundry!

I’ve got today and tomorrow to finish the rest of the list plus give the house a once-over cleaning, decorate for Halloween and finally make the loaf of almond bread and the pear-gorgonzola tart I’ve had bookmarked for weeks.

Sunday:

What do you MEAN this is the only picture you took all day? I'm freakin' ADORABLE!

Monday:

Friends who hold your baby enough that your baby likes them are the best friends

Dino nuggets taste way better than regular nuggets. Just ask my toddler.

I restarted C25K and felt like I was going to die

Tuesday:

Second to last CSA pick up makes me a sad panda

Giant carrot for lunch. Gotta keep that hair orange.

Obviously, she's mine

Day 1 of act like a grown up and take care of my skin. I even bought EYE CREAM.

Wednesday:

Breakfast of Champions: egg wrap-up with hot sauce, banana, Diet Dr. Pepper

Sleepy girl

Epic Michael's trip for Halloween decor. I decided the terrifying skeletons would be a poor choice for a kid's party.

Thursday:

I patched, sanded, and painted the walls going up the stairs.

Pair on the left cost $300. Pair on the right was free. I got both.

Picture gallery on the upstairs stairs

Friday:

I thought this baby looked like Caroline so I bought this book. I'm going to knit the crap out of that sweater.

Chilling at the yarn store

The ice cream stand was shockingly uncrowded on a Friday night. Maybe because it was only 60 degrees out.

Saturday:

Stop lookin' at my waffles like that.

My friend from @CostaFarms sent me a giant box of houseplants because she thought I'd like them. My goal is to keep them alive at least a week.

Bye-bye Back-yard-gans! Sing song! Bye-bye!

Time to go finish knitting Caroline’s fall coat, bake, mop the floors, play legos with my kid, catch up on this week’s TV and read all my friend’s blogs that I’ve been neglecting all week. I’m looking forward to all of it.

My Week(48) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, October 1st, 2011

I went to bed at 9 pm twice this week but could NOT figure out why I was so exhausted. I mean, sure, the baby has been getting up twice a night while we transition her to her nursery. But why would that make me tired? I’m a stay at home mom! I obviously don’t DO anything all day. I must have gotten a super heavy box of bonbons this week.

Oh wait, or maybe I did a zillion and one things.

Sunday:

Splits!! And I just spent 15 minutes trying to remember what it's called when you do a split with your back leg bent like that. I still don't remeber.

This was supposed to be a picture of an AWESOME block tower I built but Destructo Toddler is faster than my iPhone camera. Jerk.

I think he likes his hat

 Monday:

Caroline wants to know if Twist is actually ON meth or just ACTS like he's on meth

If you're wondering where I find the time to craft new decor for my upcoming Halloween party, the answer is "There's PLENTY of time in the day when the baby gets you up at 5 am"

Those are my teeths. Why does posting this x-ray feel like posting a naked picture?

Special lunch with a very handsome daddy

Tuesday:

My toddler can't hold his pee for five minutes until we get to a bathroom but he knows that Tuesdays are TRASH DAYS

I ran out of this red yarn to finish Caroline's fall coat, so let's just hope it doesn't get cold before next week.

Husband: What's for dinner? Me: I don't know. Let me go check Pinterest. Pinterest: Buffalo chicken rolls and parmesan fries.

Wednesday:

It's cute she's helping, until she grabs a knife. She ALWAYS goes for the knives.

I wore real clothes AND real bra. It gave me a mild case of mastitis. That'll teach me to be fancy.

This is the cart of groceries I had to abandon at BJ's because I forgot my wallet. AGAIN.

THE CUPCAKES.

Thursday:

And this is why my family is going to survive post-zombie apocalypse. We've got skills.

Friendly's for lunch??? NO WAY!

She plays with this toy correctly. It blows my mind that she understands it already.

 Friday:

Women's shoes and a guitar. Future rock star??

Evan almost got whiplash on this ride at the fair...and he LOVED IT.

Fair food, you are in me.

Pink cheeks from a long day of fun

Saturday:

Geez, what a lazy ass

Yes, those are my feet. Yes, I went for a run. Yes, I could have been sleeping. Yes, I am an idiot.

On my way home I found this in the trash. I carried it 5 blocks. Expect to see a LOT of play kitchen inspiration on my Pinteret boards.

And now it’s time to feed everyone lunch, read a little bit and then nap for AT LEAST three hours. Tomorrows plans are the same. You might call it boring and lazy, I call it saving up my energy so we survive the winter. IT’S SCIENCE.

My Week(47) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, September 24th, 2011

My ennui from Tuesday lasted all week, which means I’ve got a boring week of photos today. I didn’t FEEL like I wasn’t really doing anything but based on my pictures (or lack thereof) I gave in to my desires to stay home a lot more than I thought. But I spent one bazillion dollars at the craft store on Friday and have been cutting and gluing and knitting and it seems to be improving my mood a little bit. It also means the children and I are covered in gold glitter that refuses to come off. SPARKLY!

Sunday:

Admiring herself in a pocket mirror. She's so vain.

Radishes in our stir fry - tasty AND pretty!

Monday:

It took less than a month for my gorgeous Kate Spade to turn into a diaper bag. Oh motherhood.

Eating - er, DRAWING - with chalk at playgroup.

More cooking - roasted veggies & balsamic glazed onions

Tuesday:

YOU'RE GOING THE WRONG WAY. GO SOUTH.

Sippy cups, coffee, vintage knitting patterns, dinosaurs - pretty much my entire life on one table

Growing mushrooms is cool, as long as you don't think too carefully about what is probably in those sacks

Wednesday:

My kids in a nutshell - Caroline: "Look at me, I'm so cute!" Evan: "Oooo something shiny!!!"

SLOW YOUR ROLL, BJ'S. It's not even HALLOWEEN yet.

Accusing face. I deserved it, she got a shot AND a finger prick.

Thursday:

Stroller Strides. I suspect the kids think we're all insane.

Wrestling. I think Caroline won.

Skeptical baby is skeptical

Friday:

There's now a "make your own cloth diaper" section at my craft store.

GLITTER.

New yarn for new projects. Luckily there was room in my knitting bag, which is already 75% full of old projects I haven't finished.

Saturday:

Can you guess what Caroline is going to be for Halloween?

Practicing his circles

Someone made a HUGE MESS during dinner and ended up naked.

I’ve decided I get the rest of the weekend to continue being lazy (especially tomorrow, which is my day to sleep in, which means I am not even going to THINK about getting out of bed until 10 am) and then I’m going to snap out of it. I’ve got a whole Pinterest board full of Halloween craft ideas, Caroline’s costume to finish, a What’s for Dinner post to write and lots of fall pictures to take. Unless it keeps raining. Rain validates all laziness.

My Week(46) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, September 17th, 2011

Man, is there anything less fun than coming back to your normal, mid-sized, dog hair covered house after a luxury vacation? I have GOT to win the lottery. Or at least start making enough money so I can afford someone to come in and clean up this dog hair once a week. Sheesh.

Sunday:

Tiny bebehs, giant bathtub

Still not enough cheese.

No one can resist Caroline's cuddles

Monday:

Screw you beach house. Screw you and your perfect sunrise.

Dog-hair free. And so so shiny.

At least it was a nice day for driving.

Tuesday:

Crazy ass giant mouse thing at the Natural History Museum

I took approximately 500 pictures of butterflies, so if they all disappear off the face of the earth tomorrow I'M GOOD.

The only thing left on the Missoni accessory rack. I didn't buy it.

Wednesday:

Luggage in my kitchen. Guess how much has been put away as of this morning. (Hint: NONE)

Kisses.

A photo of me editing photos. Aren't you EXCITED?

Thursday:

Blue cheese, bacon, tomato, carmelized onions on sourdough from the fancy grilled cheese restaurant in Mystic.

Toddler table. The cute is out of CONTROL.

Adorable thrifted vintage baby clothes (and handmade headbands) from an AMAZING internet friend. Thank you @heathermbyrd!!

Friday:

First shoes!

Meal planning. It took me three days and I still haven't actually MADE any of them.

New (amazing) lens. I can now take pictures of each of Caroline's eyelashes.

Saturday:

8 am, where else would I be?

Swoopy hair, sleepy face

More wine, less whine.

I plan to spend Sunday napping as much as possible – I feel like I’ve been beaten (thanks to Stroller Strides) and sleep deprived (thanks to a teething baby) and starved (thanks to eating like a fat kid on vacay followed by a return to my diet) – while I thoroughly neglect my children. Luckily they’re pretty self sufficient if you throw a few cheese sticks at them and turn on Nick Jr. I am the best mother EVER.

My Week(45) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, September 10th, 2011

Besides the crazy amount of driving (WHY can’t Connecticut and Virginia and South Carolina be CLOSER TOGETHER???) this was a great week and continues to be pretty much the very best weekend ever. E.V.E.R.

Sunday:

Ball holder

Poor baby had a rash so we had naked time...and then we had clean the carpet time.

Solo car trip to...it doesn't even matter. Just being ALONE IN THE CAR is such a treat.

Monday:

Smug mug

Family pizza - mine is the one without the GIANT AMOUT OF MEAT

Daddy jungle gym, mommy relaxing. As it should be.

Tuesday:

Grapes and cheese, the official breakfast of baby champions

It was raining at the CSA pickup, but the toddlers STILL played in a bucket of water

I need everyone reading this to tell E that when Kate Spade is 60% off you HAVE to buy it. It's practically in the Constitution.

Wednesday:

Part 1 of the 2 day roadtrip

Sir Toppam Hat And The Train Tracks Of DOOM

OH THE HUMANITY!!!

Thursday:

More driving. Annoyed face.

GET IN MY FACE NOW.

Kiawah Island

Friday:

View from the house where we're staying

Beach house pool. Because, OBVIOUSLY.

Bailey's & Milk and Champagne. Because, WHY NOT?

Saturday:

Nick Jr is still cooler than a fancy beach house

Straight up paparazzi lens we found in a drawer. It's AWESOME.

Good times were had by all.

And now it’s bedtime for toddlers and babies, which means it’s wine-o-clock for mommies and daddies (and the childless friends who have been SO AMAZING and helpful and patient with my babies)
