Snow, snow, snow, snow! It won’t be long til we will all be there with….GODDAMN IT MORE SNOW. Like I said before, it wasn’t a horrible week but by Friday I was d o n e. From tomorrow until the end of February my calendar has something on it almost every day (including kindergarten registration for Evan (!!) and preschool registration for Caroline (!!!!)). I’m actually excited about it, since I am no longer so exhausted I can’t function part 2 pm.
Sunday:
My child is very attractive
Festive leggings for Superbowl Sunday
Saaaaaaaad football game
Monday:
No school. Shocking.
They are giving him warm hugs
Caroline loves being covered in snow because she is a weirdo
Tuesday:
Sparkly
It was like, 35 degrees, so he didn’t want to wear his coat.
Cheese vultures hang around the deli counter until the workers give them cheese
Wednesday:
She asks me to take this picture at least once a day
The giant couch is still the best purchase ever
Editing some of my favorite photos EVER
Thursday:
Walking out my front door is RISKING YOUR LIFE
Toes
Caroline is obsessed with that stupid narwhal book
Friday:
Breakfast icicle
NOT COOL BABY. I’m only 17 weeks.
Mess.
Saturday:
So excited for ballet
More dog hugs
We watched a couple hours of men’s figure skating today and by the end both kids and injured themselves trying to do triple axles in the family room. I think I’m going to have to sign them up for the lessons I’ve been promising for weeks. Not that I DON’T want them to both become famous Olympic figure skaters so I can be the mom in those P&G commercials that make me cry every time, but ice rinks are cold. I was hoping for swimming. Or beach volleyball.

It’s Superbowl Sunday! Wait, am I allowed to say the word “superbowl”? Or do I have to do the dancing around all the TV commercials do? Big game! Football day! Nationally eating stuff event! I do plan to eat all the stuff, although I’m lucky enough to be attending a party where someone else is doing all the cooking.
Sunday:
One in a set of about fifty
Watching Star Wars, obvs
They are sitting like that because that is how one sits when singing “Do You Want To Build A Snowman”.
Monday:
Dinosaur attack!
More dinosaurs at her 3 year well-baby
No idea what wore this kid out but he CRASHED
Tuesday:
It was 4 degrees but they insist on waiting outside for the bus
Fashionista
Their first trip to DQ
Wednesday:
Very cold twins
Patiently waiting to get in the pool
Visiting our lobster friends
Thursday:
She was happy (if cold) at 8:30 am
But when I picked her up at 11:30 she was HYSTERICAL and said her ear hurt. Poor baby was right and wins the award for the first Davis child to get an ear infection. She was back to normal after 24 hours of meds and luckily loves the taste of amoxicillin.
Attempt #2 at McDonald’s biscuits was failure #2
Friday:
She has an active imagination
Ugh. Even worse, I have to do federal taxes next.
Cuddles
Saturday:
Morning ballet…
…afternoon sing-a-long…
…evening bread hugging. Weirdos.
I am behind on literally everything I’m supposed to be doing right now, but I have high hopes I’ll be able to catch up this week. I also have some exciting weekend plans involving seeing some of my very favorite people in the world. Just keep your fingers crossed we don’t get a snowstorm late in the week that keeps me trapped at home and moping instead of once again eating all the things.

I sort of can’t believe that a week ago we were in Ohio. It’s amazing how easy it is to forget the change in our routine after a few days of normalcy. I think that’s why coming home from vacations are so rough – once you’re in your own house a couple nights the time away doesn’t feel real anymore. One of these days I’ll go on a real vacation and then tell you if that theory holds up.
Sunday:
Obsessed with her Aunt Kristi’s ponies
Cousins love the same thing: juice boxes and iPads
A Star Wars/Transformers battle at Bob Evans
Monday:
Toddlers don’t understand sitting quietly during a serious occasion, so we read this book 1000 times instead
Checking out the competition for Grandma and Grandpa’s attention
Tuesday:
Pennsylvania
New York
Connecticut
Wednesday:
Snow dog loves the snow
Snow cream and movies on a snow day
Mommy take a picture of us cuddles!
Thursday:
Waiting for the bus selfies
Cuphead is stalking you
Being adorable
Friday:
OMG U GUISE, ANOTHER ICE AGE! WE’RE DOOOOOMED!
At least she thinks a sink full of dishes is adorable
Snow White had a long week
Saturday:
Oh well that’s not going to give me nightmares.
First day of ballet class
Buying essentials.
Today we are introducing Evan to the Star Wars movies. It’s basically the best plan ever, since we’ve bought ourselves an entire day of sitting on the couch with only occasional interruptions to explain that Han is definitely going to be OK even though he’s frozen or that they’re called “light sabers” not “life savers”. The day would be almost perfect if we weren’t out of jelly beans.
Caroline finally has her 3 year checkup tomorrow so I can see if she’s grown as much as I think she has. I’m not looking forward to the screaming while she has her shots part but afterwards we can get milkshakes so we’ll both feel better. Plus the baby loves milkshakes. Smart baby.

This week is late and missing photos, but a last minute trip to Ohio for a funeral will do that. The kids really enjoyed seeing their cousins for the first time in a long time and it was great to meet my THREE new baby nephews, but the drive there and the drive back (in the snowstorm) was rough on everyone. Especially poor E, who drove for 12.5 hours straight since I was too nauseous to drive in the morning and too freaked out by the weather to drive in the afternoon. But I am super glad the Navy granted him emergency leave so we could all say goodbye to his Grandma Davis in person.
Sunday:
New baby props for a newborn shoot
Oh hello crazy awesome abandoned mill I really really want to take pictures of for real
I call this: Pregnancy Cravings
Monday:
Helping me clean her room
Old dog, 3 year old girl
Both kids passed out at 5 pm. No idea what happened.
Tuesday:
Not rain nor snow nor sleet shall keep the gingers from waiting for the bus outside
Thanks to a couple friends and a few (too many) trips to Wendy’s we have an awesome collection of these now. Evan made an Air Force.
Bedtime for gingers
Wednesday:
Nor fog. I forgot fog before.
Presents for myself, thanks to a MinuteClinic Christmas card. Love them. (That mascara is amazing, thanks to Laura for the suggestion.)
Second swim lesson: GOOGLES
Thursday:
V. excited for school
Show off.
Friday:
Endless driving.
Apple face
Saturday:
Enjoying some “cold chocolate” after sledding
Hand & Foot
The Marble Game. We were trying to fit as much Midwest into our visit a possible.
I can’t believe it’s already almost Wednesday. We’re getting hammered with snow right now and I doubt anyone is going to school tomorrow. I’m supposed to have an OB appointment and the kids are supposed to have swimming but that’s all sort of questionable too. Not that I mind a day off to recover from being out of town, although I doubt anything useful like unpacking or cleaning will get done. Probably just napping.

Sunday, January 12th, 2014
A whole real week back at school with no delays and no snow days…and we’re all incredibly exhausted. Vacation spoiled me. Although I did manage to find the energy for some incredibly low impact shuffling at the gym. I’m paying for it today by not being able to sit/stand/walk correctly. This pregnancy is kind of kicking my ass already.
Sunday:
Christmas boots she wears basically every day
Father-son hockey game date
Not sad she got left and home for Mommy cuddles
Monday:
Crazy ass weather
Singing to herself while I sign her up for ballet
Princess Tiana/Winter Elf
Tuesday:
I knit these out of buffalo fur. They’re insanely warm.
I’m pretending we left that pumpkin on the steps FOR the squirrels, and it’s not still there because I can’t deal with shoveling it up and throwing it in the garden.
Can’t sleep alone
Wednesday:
No one else signed up, so we get private swim lessons #WINNING
Fugitive Icee drinkers at Starbucks
Their new favorite bedtime book
Thursday:
He wanted me to take a picture of him standing on the “snow mountain” i.e. tiny lump of snow that didn’t melt in the rain
I took my very attractive children to see Frozen, again.
Sleeping with Elsa
Friday:
Let it go, let it go!
They dressed themselves, arranged this display and then requested I take a lot of pictures
Also how I feel.
Saturday:
Why did the one-legged wild turkey cross the road?
The appropriate way to watch My Little Pony
I was supposed to have these done last week but there are SO MANY good ones it’s taking me forever. Such gorgeous children.
I have two photo sessions to work on on Monday and one to shoot on Thursday. It’s definitely not as crazy as it was in the fall but I’m pretty thrilled to have clients even in the winter. I also realized I hardly ever take personal pictures anymore, so using my camera on my OWN kids is a goal for 2014. And also to blog more, which I say every week but I’m failing. The difference between pregnant at 26 and pregnant at 31 is about 3 naps a day.
