What day is it? Where am I? When was this? All the weeks seem both a million years ago and like they are still happening right now.
Sunday:
Sleeeeeeepy baby
This is Lincoln running away because I am the meanest
The kids are doing yoga right now while I am typing this recap
Monday:
Pajamas on the porch
When he outgrows these boots, he’ll go barefoot forever
MORE NAPS
Tuesday:
Picking up Brutus at the vet
Stupid bug bite turned into an INSANE rash
WHY AREN’T YOU SLEEPING NOW?
Wednesday:
Sure, that’s normal.
Someone wasn’t getting enough attention
Thursday:
Sick, miserable kiddo
Friday:
Back to the doctor for some prednisone
SAVE ME HALO TOP
Farmer’s market night
Saturday:
The price I pay for sleeping in for half an hour
Corn maze adventure
Caroline does handstands, Finn shares his juice
The weather went from being full-time amazing to rainy and dark and it reminds me that in a couple weeks daylight savings will end and it will be dark by the time the kids get home from school. AND THEN WE STILL HAVE TO GO TO ALL OUR ACTIVITIES. I do not love this part of the year in New England. At least in a few weeks I can start on Christmas and that will cheer me up.

If you ever needed reassurance that being a stay at home mom is a real job with a long list of responsibilities, come down with the stomach flu for 24 hours or so.
Despite the fact that I’ve been on a de-junking spree for all of 2017, the number of baby toys, kid socks, coats, backpacks, cups, straws, books, markers, pieces of paper, Legos, hair accessories and other random flotsam and jetsom that ended up strewn about my house was incredible. One day without putting away laundry and suddenly there’s laundry piles everywhere. I didn’t even eat or make food all day and somehow there was still a pile of dishes in the sink.
I did manage to keep two babies alive for most of that time. I mean, they were alive for all of that time, but once E got home mid-afternoon I fell into bed until my fever broke.
Luckily, by Friday morning I had enough energy to eat an English muffin, which made me feel 100% better and I got back to my adulting. We managed to more than make up for my lost time by Saturday evening and once again I am going to bed with the dishes done, the floor ready for the robot vacuum, and more adulting projects complete. The ultimate goal is to get the house SO clean and SO organized that one day of illness wouldn’t leave me with a disaster. But I suspect getting to that point is going to have more to do with no longer having a 2-year-old in the house than getting rid of more stuff.
Speaking of the 2-year-old, look at this ridiculous hat.

This week feels like it happened months ago. I was SUCH a mess just seven days ago, I can’t even believe I didn’t end up in the hospital. Fingers crossed that’s as sick as I get this pregnancy, I can’t handle any more than that.
You’ll notice a lot of messy house and couch pictures this week as a result of my convalescence. At least let’s pretend that’s why.
Sunday:
View from my sick bed
My children being kind and loving
My children being annoying because I don’t have the energy to stop them
Monday:
Big kid swings
Little kid naps
Big kids nap too
Tuesday:
He’s a Target Pro
With their Vacation Bible School goodies
He insists on walking up the stairs like this all the time now
Wednesday:
New pregnancy craving: fresh bread
Seems like a perfectly good place to park
Evening lake life’
Thursday:
HASHTAG REAL LIFE HASHTAG MY CHILDREN ARE THE WORST
Sea Swirl is my favorite
They’re all obsessed with this statue in Mystic
Friday:
A week of VBS plus lake equals SO TIRED
Bread thief
Storm’s a’comin’
Saturday:
I’m currently obsessed with film
Caroline is obsessed with changing diapers (we have a rash situation, I’m still using cloth mostly)
You should smell this lavender farm. It’s AMAZING.
Tomorrow Caroline starts Seaport Camp, which means she’s going to be an exhausted mess basically every night. But that just means she (and I) can go to bed extra early. I am toooootally fine with that. I’m getting to the point where I want to sleep as much as possible because I know in another 8 weeks I won’t be sleeping again for 2 years. I’m not really looking forward to that part of having a baby.

Dear Internet, please forgive the absolutely dismal quality of photos this week. Caroline was sick Monday and Tuesday, which overlapped with me being sick Tuesday through Saturday. I pretty much let the kids fend for themselves. The only thing we managed to do the second half of the week was swim class, and that’s only because the super warm, humid pool helped with my horrible hacking cough. Thank goodness I’m back to about 90% healthy and the house is back to the regular level of disaster instead of the kind where it looks like it’s been hit by a tornado.
Sunday:
A Lego set that comes with four sharks is an excellent set
FANCY HAIR for our photo shoot
The children barely fit with all those stupid balloons
Monday:
He knows I’m going to take it away
Trying to cheer up his sister
The super creepy turkey vultures are back
Tuesday:
Linc pulled her hair, then lay like this for 15 minutes to apologize
This cat is always judging me.
New earrings from RocksBox are A++
Wednesday:
Sure, do whatever, as long as I can monitor you from the couch
Pathetic
Linc is also judging me
Thursday:
Sharing toys with sick mommy
He went down for nap without nursing for the first time for me.
That drowned rat look is very nice
Friday:
World, please send help, I’m locked in this house with a useless mother
Thank goodness for naps
From the tap is better than from the tub
Saturday:
24 Sharpies is exactly what the baby needs
Caroline made a dreamcatcher at school, Linc decided it’s a hat
Linc also decided HE is a hat.
Hopefully, the last of this awful cough clears up soon and I can get back to just being normal pregnant levels of uncomfortable. That sounds delightful.

More than half of this week’s photos are of sleeping children. It’s cold. It’s snowy. They were all sick. It’s effing February.
Sunday:
Still in bed when the sun comes up is UNHEARD OF these days
Eyelashes
Bedtime only happened because of this.
Monday:
I came downstairs Monday and they were already dressed for school…except it was anothiner snow day.
Baby Model
Modeling is hard work
Tuesday:
More eyelashes
Sick sickies recovering from the barfs
THIS ONE thinks he’s going to crawl. He is wrong.
Wednesday:
He’s shocked we actually left the house
Check up time!
Jealousy
Thursday:
MOAR NAPZ
MOAR SNOWZ
That splash is Evan
Friday:
Jerk baby sleeping in my spot.
There is SO MUCH I love in this picture
Playing with toys like he’s a real person
Saturday:
Those are hearts. It’s a lot harder than it looks.
Ice skating party with the ice queen
Aaaaaaand we out.
There was another blizzard this morning. I’m starting to feel very Little House on the Prairie – the one where they live in the town and it snows SO MUCH they have to climb out their second floor windows. That is a real possibility if we don’t get a thaw before we get more storms.
The kids are already off Monday/Tuesday for President’s Day and I’m suspicious they will miss Wednesday because of snow. I think I’ll spend the rest of the night googling flights to Florida or Bermuda or California, since if I am trapped in the house like this until April I am going to loose my marbles. This is when orders to Hawaii start looking really, really tempting.
