My Week(98) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, September 15th, 2012

My week was going really well until Caroline’s accident on Friday. (In case you missed my Tweets/FB updates/Instagrams she fell at the playground and broke her collar bone.) It was pretty traumatic for all of us. It’s also put a damper on our fall plans, our playdate schedule and Caroline’s budding gymnastics career. Poor thing. So we’re taking things easy and cruising right through our Disney DVD collection.

Sunday:

He insisted my boots fit him just fine.

We made it to church! And it didn’t burn down or anything!

I love this stroller but it REALLY NEEDS A CUP HOLDER.

Monday:

MORNING toothbrushing? Whose children are these?

Lion fish are badass

Hi Beluga, I love you.

Tuesday:

Sewing helper! Tuesday was GET THIS DAMN COSTUME DONE Day.

Mostly done…

…THERE’S my magical pixie!!

Wednesday:

Color matching uneven bars foot bean bag toss – he rocked it.

BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY – Caroline

He transferred from a car nap to a couch nap that lasted 3 hours. I have NO IDEA why.

Thursday:

Easily distracted by things in the dirt

22 lb baby vs. 10 lb kettle bell. She is SO STRONG.

Scenic, tragic waterfall

Friday:

I took a picture to commemorate NOT wearing yoga pants.

That slide in the background is what she fell off the top of, 2 minutes after I took this photo.

Sponge Bob in the ER – I hate the damn show but it certainly kept Evan quiet for 2 hours.

Saturday:

The patient demanded a popsicle for breakfast, the patient gets a popsicle.

Tired from a day of doing…nothing.

Cheerful enough for a bath. Thank goodness, she was covered in popsicle.

So if you need me, I’ll be over here feeling like the world’s worst mom. Good times.

My Week(90) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, July 21st, 2012

We are super busy but it’s all self-imposed business, the kind where we don’t have time to go grocery because we were at the zoo all morning and the playground all afternoon. Then I’m up too late at night putting away laundry blogging and watching The Walking Dead but I’m so exhausted when I do fall asleep I sleep like a log and wake up to a 3 year old begging to go to the zoo and the playground again. It’s not so bad, is what I’m saying.

Sunday:

I was trying to take a picture of my cute dress and Caroline decided to crawl back up the way she came out. NO.

Hot and sweaty walk to church

She’s wondering what kind of terrible mother doesn’t provide air conditioning

Monday:

Naughty? Who’s being naughty?

The nice aquarium volunteer helped Evan touch a starfish…and Evan ripped it’s leg off.

Really excited to be at BJ’s.

Tuesday:

<3 <3 <3

He REALLY likes peanut butter and honey sandwiches

I LOVE having a track I can walk to for C25K

Wednesday:

Er’ybody relax! I found the sequins!

REALLY EXCITED about the tiny plums

Back-to-back reading

Thursday:

I think Ken has something to tell his parents.

Sleeeeeeeepy face

POOR CHOICES

Hard core running in the dark.

Friday:

My kids get SO EXCITED over other people’s toys

Howdy!

Crazy old house wallpaper

Saturday:

Boxcar Children

BLT & onion rings = Vacation Food

It was a train-tastic day.

Tomorrow is Evan’s (forced) best friend Reid’s birthday. It’s robot themed, so we’re staying up tonight making robots out of boxes and melting crayons into little silicone molds. It’s going to be pretty low key but still SUPER cute. Then we head back to Connecticut for another super awesome week of summer fun. I LOVE YOU JULY.

Trash/Treasure V. 2

Thursday, June 7th, 2012

This is my haul from two separate shopping days in the past couple weeks. Actually, the flea market was a “shopping day” but the garage sale was “30 minutes of chasing two kids around a school gymnasium while also shopping”. Whatever you call it, I was pretty please with my finds.

First, the Jewett City Flea Market:

flea market finds little golden books tonka chineese checkers

Total cost: $7

Metal Tonka fire truck
3 Little Golden Books
Chinese Checkers board

Printed in 1939!

I replaced three little white plates with the fun board and I love it! I can still take it down to play :)

That Chinese Checkers board was a super lucky find. I grabbed from the floor in front of a booth and asked the lady in charge how much she wanted literally 20 seconds before a guy came running up saying “Whoa! That’s so cool! It’s a collector’s item! It’s old and in such good shape!” He went on and on about how it might be valuable until I said “I’ll give you an extra dollar for it if you want” but the lady told me she got it for free somewhere so she didn’t care.

And this is what I found at a giant indoor garage sale at the local charter school on Saturday:

Total: $4.50

Three milk glass vases (for my collection!)
Two children’s books
Vintage short sleeved baby sweater
CAT digger toy
1973 edition of BH&G Baby Book

This digger lights up and makes sounds too!

Once I get a chance to read this, I'll share some of the "best" advice. (Sample: Your husband should just go back to the office while you're in labor, since it's going to take a long time.)

My Week(82) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, May 26th, 2012

Hi, can’t talk, must get back to eating and drinking ALL THE THINGS.

Sunday:

Hockey day!

Subway = mom of the century

This is my "crazy person carrying home two giant bags of plants my neighbor gave me" face

Monday:

She couldn't make up her mind on this hat - but the giant Dora face on the other side ended up making it a NO.

Christmas socks in May. Don't judge me.

We were outside. It started pouring. I made her come inside. This happened.

Tuesday:

Evan said "Let's buy this flowers for Daddy!" It was adorable, but the flowers cost $9.99, so, no.

Posing

LOUD NOISES

Wednesday:

Gymnastics? Gymnastics!!

Anyone tells my kid not to wear the pink fairy wings and they get a face full of my FIST.

Evan built a fort, complete with "outer space rocket"

Thursday:

More push-ups Mommy! More push-ups!

Tiny daredevil demands to be pushed higher

Reading herself to sleep

Friday:

Waiting for the train

Horsey does not look amused

Smores Face

Saturday:

Ready for fun in her new car seat

Adorable red-heads sharing a soft serve

Driving a fire truck was ALMOST the highlight of his night...

...until this happened. (He's the tiny, blurry speck 15 feet in the air)

One of my BFF’s (Wedding Erin, if that means anything to some of you) is visiting for the long weekend and we’re attempting to fit as much fun as possible into 4 days. So far we’ve been extremely successful.

My Week(80) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, May 12th, 2012

Despite the fact that it rained – a lot, or at least it felt like a lot – this week, we certainly made it out of the house every day. Which is why I just ate a giant ice cream sundae to celebrate surviving.

Sunday:

Tiny hockey player

I cleaned Caroline's room. It lasted 45 seconds, until Evan found the puzzles.

What, you don't plan your garden while watching Game of Thrones?

Monday:

We borrowed this stroller from a friend and Caroline is in LOVE with it. If anyone knows where I can get one, please let me know.

Playdate lunch - mac'n'cheese and watermelon

WHOA, WHAT IS THIS?? (Answer: soft serve from Sea Swirl)

Tuesday:

A rare moment of peace in a shared cart

He used his magic ginger powers on me. Kid is unstoppable.

Evening self portrait

 Wednesday:

Oh looks, it's raining! Wet!

I've put this damn floor puzzle together every day this week.

Sure. Whatever. Just get out of my house.

Thursday:

POOR CHOICES CAROLINE

Form a line, please! I'm in the front!

Giant bubbles are fun

Friday:

E wore his fancy clothes for a boat thing - I lay in bed.

Beautiful day for Stroller Strides

Caroline learned to say "quack quack". It's the cutest thing ever.

Saturday:

For Mother's Day, I bought myself flowers that will last a lot longer than a bouquet

Caroline was unimpressed by the dinosaur tracks.

It would have been cooler with a voiceover that said "WHEN DINOSAURS RULED THE EARTH!!!"

Despite getting to sleep in Saturday, it was a REALLY long day so as soon as I finish typing this post I’m going to bed. I dragged my very patient husband off to meet my internet friend Kim – who was just as awesome in real life as she’s been online for the past 3 years. The boys had an amazing time running (away) together and Evan cried all the way home because he didn’t want to leave his fwiends. It was adorable. And also exhausting. Sunday is more hockey, more gardening and my first attempt at making artichokes for dinner. Happy Mother’s Day!
