Two cat pictures in one week?! Crazy cat lady alert!

We’re going into week 2 of E’s crazy work schedule and so far I’m doing pretty well. The major reason I’m not freaking out is a spot opened up at Evan’s school for Caroline, so as long as I can get the immunization record from the doctor on Monday afternoon she starts school on Tuesday morning! My plan is to burn rubber out of the parking lot cackling maniacally and head for the gym on base, where I get 2 full child-free hours to take a class or restart C25K on a treadmill or just screw around on the elliptical trainer. Preschool isn’t cheap, but neither is a mental breakdown.

Also, I’m finishing up a few giveaway posts I’ve got in my queue, so if you like free stuff this will be a good month to be a blog reader. If you don’t like free stuff, come back on Wednesdays for nothing but cute ginger pictures.

My Week(117) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, January 26th, 2013

It’s cold in Connecticut. It doesn’t really matter HOW cold, since there isn’t some sort of contest for who-can-complain-about-being-the-coldest and once it gets down to below freezing everyone loses the contest anyway. As long as it’s too cold for outside activities my weeks are going to be especially uninteresting.

E had to work today, but the kids and I met up with some old friends at Foxwoods for lunch and games and ice cream. It’s crazy to think when I met them I wasn’t even engaged to E and now between us we have 4 kids 4 and under. They’re moving to Guam in a few days (I am ONLY jealous because I’m so sick of the cold) so we’re trying to squeeze in another visit tomorrow – although Evan is going to be heartbroken when he finds out his new BFF can’t come to his birthday in April.

Look, an authentic historic mason jar with a straw, just like they used in Revolutionary War times.

We went to Old Sturbridge Village today, which was fun! Sort of fun. It actually could have been funner. I have tons of memories of visiting when I was younger (4th or 5th grade maybe?) but it turns out it isn’t quiet as interesting for a 2 and 3 year old, although that’s mostly because everything is covered in snow and/or closed. That’s not stopping me from taking the kids back NEXT weekend, but that will probably be it until summer. At least we still have the aquarium all to ourselves for a few more months.

My Week(112) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, December 22nd, 2012

I think Caroline slept more this week than she has since she was a newborn. Poor lamb has never been so sick – the doctor called us Saturday morning just to check in since he was so worried about her. Luckily after we got her fever under control and started the antibiotics she improved VERY quickly and is right now playing hide and seek with her brother. Badly.

saturday2

Snack in a fairy house

saturday3

Now that the Neiman Marcus stuff is 50% off I thought about buying this again. But it is STILL $50 and I am STILL not that crazy.

Tomorrow my in-laws come to visit, the next day is Christmas Eve, on the 25th we’re going to make cookies and watch Christmas movies and then have our “Christmas” with presents and stockings on the 26th. Even with extra-early Thanksgiving the month has flown past and I can’t believe it’s almost over. I’m just so happy both kids look like they’re going to be healthy (KNOCK ON WOOD) by the time we celebrate Christmas.
