Our week was busy, except for when it wasn’t because of the pouring rain and flash floods. But mostly busy.
Sunday:
I mean, I only have three doll houses, why not buy another one? (I did not)
Caroline is destined for music videos with lots of mind machines
I appreciate how the trees on the point hide most of the nuclear power plant. More scenic.
Monday:
I’ve never actually seen the state capitol before
Confucius say: Give a man $120 and he will give you an LLC.
Sometimes I take pictures of stuff I want to remember to keep on my phone, but then I forgot to leave them on my phone.
Tuesday:
The local tax office is located in part of an old TB hospital.

I told Evan he is my photography assistant, and he said that means he has to push the stroller.

Restarted C25K. This time I am determined to finish.
The urgency to do as many things and have as much fun as possible before summer is over has hit. I was actually grateful for a rainy miserable day to stay home and relax (even though we ended up having friends over and totally wearing out my kids). July is almost over and August is going to FLY by and then Evan starts 5 days a week morning pre-k, which I am both totally ready and not at all ready for. They grow up so fast, etc etc, but I’m looking forward to a new stage where I have a lot more time to focus on things I love (especially photography) instead of just being Mommy.

Uuuuuuugggghhhhhhhh it’s hooooooot. We’ve been trying to hold as still as possible, although “still” isn’t really a word in these children’s vocabulary. I’m also going to blame the heat for messing up my iPhone and losing more than half my photos. Our trip to the lake, gymnastics, all of Thursday. Gone. Annoyed. And hot.

I wish I could tell you that giant drink was sugar free organic juice, but then I’d be a liar. (We saw Monsters 2. Cute but I liked Despicable Me 2 better.)

We’ve all been getting a LOT of checkups since Thursday.
At least it wasn’t permanent marker.

I swear we’re going to leave the house tomorrow, if only because I can’t stand sitting in my own sweat any longer. I am insanely jealous of my parents and their lake house right now (Happy Birthday Mom!) and need to figure out how to get there ASAP.

I don’t even remember this week. Seriously. It’s all just  a blur of hot, hot, rain, rain, hot, rain in my head.
Sunday:
Recycling is fun!
Slip and slides are NOT fun. Especially as an adult.
Yes, clearly that part of the immensely overgrown garden needs more water.
Monday:
I found 100 of these photos on my camera roll. I did not take them.
Working on potty training. I took the carpet up not long after.
They’re surprisingly fast for small children. I didn’t get in a real focused run, but it was definitely exercise.
Tuesday:
First day of summer school is a happy day for EVERYONE.
Exhausted from summer school.
MOMMY TIME.
Wednesday:
Funny, that’s the outfit I wear when I clean too.

She cried off all her butterfly facepaint (from being super tired and cranky) then passed out.
Thursday:
Morning Netflix in the bounce house.
The bush in my yard exploded with hydrangeas, so I filled my house with them.

Friday:
My house always gets messier before it gets cleaner.
He suddenly remembered he loves trains

This week is going to be another one I barely remember. I’m determined to get my house – and life – more organized, so we’re alternating busy days out doing stuff with boring TV days for the kids while I CLEAN ALL THE THINGS. I’ve made it 75% through the first floor and am officially able to have people over for playdates again without dying of embarrassment.

Another summer week, another seven days I can hardly believe were only seven days.
Sunday:
Yeah, basically this, for the whole weekend.
They ate all the peas & berries before we even got back in the car.
Oh no! Stormy seas! The boat is rocking! (It was not stormy.)
Monday:
Friendship IS magic!
Dr. Evan to x-ray, STAT!
It’s adorable, but they still stole my umbrella.
Tuesday:
Burning off some energy. SO MUCH ENERGY.
Every morning Caroline wakes up and cries until she can say hello to her kitty.

It is still hot hot hot in New England, so our choices are 1) sit really, really still in the house with all the fans blowing on us or 2) go find a body of water. There are lots of those around, but since Evan and I both got sunburns on the 4th we’ve been hiding inside mostly. They start the preschool summer program this week (I…think? I need to call…) so we’ll eventually have to go back to the real world, but for now I am enjoying doing nothing. Mostly nothing. I don’t think potty training counts as REALLY doing nothing.

This is the only time all week we got Caroline into a boat.

We have a liiiiitle bit more vacation followed by the horrible drive back to Connecticut, so if you hate me and my vacation photos don’t worry, I’m almost done. Then it’s back to real life for…well, forever. Basically. Or at least until next year’s summer vacation. Although I can’t say I’ll be sorry to be home in front of my own TV where I can lie on the couch eating an entire pint of ice cream while my children scream at each other without bothering any other people.
