Wordless Wednesday: Beach Day Edition

When I put these on my computer I put them in a file called “End of Summer” but I withdraw my assessment. It’s going to be 80 for at least the next week, we will beach it up again.

p.s. It was pretty cold for a beach day, but the gingers do not care.

    What fun photos!

Despite living really close to the beach, we haven’t gone at all this year. There’s been a lot of beach advisories lately, too, so I don’t know if we’ll get a chance at all. SIGH.

They closed our lake for poor water quality earlier in the summer so we haven’t been back. This is one of the beaches that charges in the summer (for the lifeguards & because they keep it really clean) but I think they’re done for the summer so we can go back. There’s a huge playground up the hill too. I love it there.

        That sounds really nice.

Chicago beaches are free, and there’s huge machines that comb the sand to pick up debris, dog poop, etc. But there’s still sea gull poop (apparently a big contributor to e Coli?) and also the occasional spillover of waste water from Indiana. Or just super high waves. Evanston (near north suburb) charges for their beach use unless you get there super early. My husband grew up there and says it’s totally worth it, though. More/better amenities, etc.

that hand picture!!!!! Knox does that! He holds his hand out just like that and says, “Just two more minutes mama!” I need you to fly out here to capture it for me.

I notice tiny ginger isn’t in the water.Del would be hunkered under a towel after merely dipping her toe in cold water. I like that yours is nesting with beach debris.
