What Caroline Wore

Now that she’s a TINY PERSON instead of just an adorable lump I can dress up like a doll I don’t put Caroline in quite so many delicate vintage dresses – but that doesn’t mean she’s any less fashionable. I can’t even tell you how much more fun dressing a girl is than dressing a boy – especially a toddler boy who thinks dinosaurs and helicopters are the height of fashion. With the HUGE number of hand-me-downs (hmd) we’ve received, Caroline’s wardrobe is a zillion times better than mine. She isn’t the hugest fan of clothes in general – I think they restrict her ability to roundhouse kick me in the face – and by 6 pm she’s usually half naked. But even just for our everyday mall-errands-home activities I try to make sure she’s at least out of her PJ’s. Here’s what Caroline wore this week:

I miss Babylegs! i was completely obsessed with them, but Rory started showing her distaste by frowning and pulling on them when she was like 15 months. Now she refuses to wear any leg warmers or tights…sigh…at least she still loves dresses!

Awww! So cute! I ALWAYS end up ooohing and awwing over all the cute stuff for girls in the stores. I really need a girl to play dress up with!

So much fun!!! I have always complained that girls stuff is so much cuter than boys stuff. I have to work hard to put Knox into cute clothes. He has several ties and a couple sweater vests. He wears button down shirts with slacks and his robeez look like little man shoes (not the typical robeez with a basketball or truck). It makes my husband roll his eyes. It can be frustrating to shop for him because in addition to the lack of non truck/sport items, he is a weird size. He’s long, but his waist is tiny and still wears 6-9 month pants (at 15months).

  6. oh my, those boots! wednesday’s boots!!! i die of the cuteness.

Why is all the hand me down gymboree stuff so much cuter than what I ever see in the store? Is it because it was free and the store is totally overpriced (because everything goes on sale before the season even starts??) or it’s just too matchy-matchy in the store? Those elephant pants are so adorable!! And I am totally using all my babylegs as leg warmers!

Love that elephant outfit! And yes, it is WAY more fun to dress little girls than it is boys!
