Let’s Play with Hello Kitty and the KuKee App

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and KuKee, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #helllokittyletsplay  http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.

I told Caroline we were going shopping for Hello Kitty clothes at the mall and she turned to our cat and said “HELLO! Kitty! Hello!”

But she figured it out pretty quick when we got there. So much pink! So many ruffles!

We had $50 to spend and had a great time picking out some fancy clothes and some basics – two tutu dresses, a pair of leggings and a long sleeved shirt brought us to $50.99. Macy’s always has great sales and coupons, and will have some awesome Hello Kitty Let’s Play deals for Black Friday and Cyber Monday (check out their page here)(OMG what Hello Kitty fan wouldn’t flip over this one???)

The Hello Kitty Let’s Play line from Evy of California has tags sewn onto them that unlock a game on your smart phone. It’s like one of the QR codes, but cute.  You just download the app (on iTunes here or Google Play here) and then scan either the sewn-in tags on the clothes or the colored stickers that come with them. The Let’s Play Dress Up line opens a Hello Kitty Dress Up app and the KuKee scavenger hunt stickers open a fun camera app where your child can take one zillion funny selfies you’ll find on your phone later. Or maybe that’s just my kids who LOVE selfies that much. Here’s a quick how-to:

(Psssst – if you don’t get a chance to collect all the colors and your kids are freaking, you can take a look at the KuKee Pinterest board.)

After I showed Caroline the fun dress up app on my phone I didn’t think I would ever get her out of the store, even though I promised it would work at home too.

Luckily KuKee sent me a big shopping bag so Caroline could “carry it her own self!” and she marched us out of the store like a champion shopper (after a little stop at the adorable Macy’s Letter to Santa station) so we could go home and she could have my phone back.

Caroline is still too young to do any sharing on her own, but the app can share or email your KuKee photos and creations online. She loved pulling up all her funny faces in the photo library and telling me over and over that those were pictures of Caroline! Right there! On the phone! Ha ha ha ha ha! Kids are awesome.

You can shop for the Helly Kitty Let’s Play line at Macy’s online here and check out the KuKee Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pages.
