Prenatal Vitamins = Win

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

I got my hair cut today, and the scalp massage my stylist gave me during the shampoo felt SO GOOD, I think I owe her dinner. Also, I am never paying more than $22 for a haircut ever again, since this is the best my hair has ever looked and I went to the damn Hair Cuttery.

Where the babies are

Confession: Long before I even got pregnant, I used to think about how I would decorate my imaginary baby’s nursery. I never actually bought anything, but I certainly bookmarked a few web pages. Tonight I remembered one my favorites and was super excited about it, especially since now my mother HAS to give me the copy of the book I know she still has in the basement. Hear that little sister? From now on if you want to know what Max is up to, you’ll have to babysit!
Oh, and here’s the print I ordered:

Palm trees and a sailboat definitely matches my theme!

Weird Pregnancy Symptom of the Day

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

I have this patch of hair by my left temple that’s gotten all dry and curly. Seeing as how I normally have the oiliest, straightest hair in the history of the world, I find this really strange. I was going to get a haircut this week, but if my hair is planning on acting all weird I’m afraid to change it. I don’t suppose an inch will make much difference. I also smell funny. To myself. I have no idea if anyone else has noticed – who wants to risk their life by asking a hormonal crazy person if they know they smell weird – but it’s making me paranoid. Maybe Santa will bring me some perfume for Christmas. Or a case of extra-strength deodorant.

img_15691 Bib from my awesome friend Sara. Not only is it cute, it is also practical, as radiation jokes are common in our family.

img_15703 Also from the lovely Sara. So cute it’s giving me cavities.

img_15642My first baby registry gift, a swing from my mother. I couldn’t wait for E to get home so I put it together myself and then had to haul it up to the nursery so I didn’t trip on it every time I went from the kitchen to the couch. It plays two choices of music, Lullaby or New Age, but I suspect it will be playing neither after a week’s use. Unless I suddenly go deaf or stab out my ear drums with a fork.

Nursery Photo Gallery – E was more helpful than Blushes the Cat, but less interested in walking through the paint. He even installed the light-blocking, cord free shades so Baby doesn’t strangle himself on the old venetian blinds.

Adorable Baby Things:

img_1571 These come from the Bunnies by the Bay collection of stuff that is so frickin adorable I am amazed I made it out of the store with only these two items, especially because everything was 20% off.
