Wordless Wednesday: Announcing Baby Girl’s Name Edition

At least, probably. Maybe. Don’t go ordering anything monogrammed just yet. Because when E comes home and says “If she’s born on Christmas, isn’t Piper Noel a nice name?” I can’t stop myself from second guessing Caroline Still-No-Middle-Name, especially after Swistle (squee!!) and her readers came up with a whole list of Christmasy themed possibilities. Suggestions still welcome.

  2. Elisabeth says:

I love the name Caroline! It’s on my list of favs. Where did you get the name cards??

  3. MKP says:

Yaaay, and also 10 kinds of awwww – love the cards, love the two of you holding them, love lil strawberry blonde Evan reaching for them… *dies*

  4. Amy says:

I still think Caroline is perfect. It goes so well with Evan and is such a pretty and classic name. :)

  5. i LOVE Caroline!! so sweet & southern ;-) and I clicked through to the other suggestions and I really really really like Caroline Noelle. sooooo pretty & feminine.

I too am partial to Caroline Noelle.

I had considered Noelle for a middle name for our Isabelle. It’s my husbands grandmother’s maiden name and I thought it was so fitting. But, Belle was born in July. So- no Christmas in July for us! :-)

Piper, ironically is also a name we had on a very short list for our Belle. So either way- I LOVE THEM!

      J & E are in class together this week! I think it’s a hoot!

  6. Alena says:

I love love love Caroline. It is on our “next baby list”.

What about Caroline Hope? I do like Caroline Noelle. I would stick with Caroline. Sweeeeet Carolinneeee ba ba ba…

My sister is Carolyn and she LOVES when people sing to her. Which is much better than my name, since I HATED “Oh Susannah” growing up. Not a good song.

  7. Leah says:

I love Caroline! It is also my niece’s name and I would have possibly used it myself had my evil sister not snatched it up first. Also, Red Sox.

  8. Love the name and the oh-so-cute announcement of it. And I can relate to your future daughter because people always sang me the Neil Diamond song “Holly holy” which is kind of hilarious if you know me. (Side note: my parents picked my name based on this song)

  9. becca says:

oh, i love caroline… and it’s actually on our list of girl names as it was my grandmother’s middle name. to complete the name, we’d go with elizabeth; which is one of jeremy’s grandmother’s middle names…

Caroline is a lovely classic elegant timeless name. I sound like I’m talking about a watch, huh? As for middle names, Caroline Peppermint Mocha would probably get you free Starbucks for life. Just saying (as I drink a pumpkin spice cappuccino).

I’m starting to think you may not make it till your due date like I predicted. Eh, we’ll all find out soon enough. Love the pics, btw. Baby E is reaching out for his little sister! Well, kinda.

  11. Katie Gibson-Stofflet says:

    Caroline Grace …… hehehehehe

  12. I love Caroline. I think Caroline Noel is really pretty, too. It goes well with your last name. And the names have the same relative level of commonality. This comes in to play when buying pre-made name things. My sister was always pissed that we never had a problem finding Amy, but Laurie was no where to be found. As a result, I never got any cheesy souvenirs because we both couldn’t get them.

  13. CUTE!!! Love the name, love the picture, love it all!!! Caroline is so classic. So beautiful.

  14. Cole says:

Beautiful! I love Caroline Noelle, too. Can’t wait for your big news – and to get a middle name announcement!

  15. merin says:

Caroline is such a pretty, classic name-great choice! Love the clever announcement-you never cease to amaze me with your creativity. Hope you are feeling better too-you look fantastic.

  16. jill says:

this is quite possibly the cutest way to announce a name ever! i absolutely love the name caroline too! oh she is going to be a doll!!!

  17. Jacki says:

I have a Caroline! I love love love her name and have not once regretted choosing it :) Although her name is Sydney Caroline but she goes by Caroline (we just didn’t like the reverse as much) Her nickname is Care Bear

Congrats on your new baby girl and to Evan the big brother!!!

ps. my vote is Caroline Noelle :) beautiful!

  18. raincheckmom says:

    Caroline Noelle is perfect!

  19. molly says:

    Love, love, LOVE!

Caroline is beautiful–timeless, classic, and elegant. As others have observed, it goes well with Evan. That said, Piper is a lot of fun! I don’t know, it’s so hard to choose. Could you wait until you see her and then make the final decision? I have a friend who was set on naming her baby girl Blake, but once she saw her she really thought she didn’t look like a Blake, so they named her Kate instead.

If you do go with Caroline for sure, I vote for Caroline Noelle. I think it’s nice to commemorate her Christmastide birthday with her name. I hope you’re at the hospital having that baby right now, because I predicted today as the day! But alas I think that you are not.

  21. Katherine says:

I vote Caroline Noel! Very sweet :) Cute announcement!!

  22. tracy says:

    LOVE the name Caroline! Gorgeous!

  23. Swistle says:

Oh, wasn’t that FUN?? I do like Caroline Noelle like a lot of people said, but I also like Caroline Eve and Caroline Joy and Caroline Estelle! Oh, I SOOOOO hope she is born on Christmas Eve and that you name her Caroline Eve!!
