Water Babies
This is basically a Wordless Wednesday post wasted on a Tuesday, but I feel like I used up all the words in my head yesterday. Speaking of words, my friend Amy and I share a hive mind (or maybe a love of stalking snarky blog criticism sites) because she posted a letter to her son about why she blogs yesterday too that you should check out too. Or if you’re in the mood for adorable ginger children in a hotel pool pictures, stick around.

Oh man, I can’t wait for the beach.
These pictures are so adorable!
Oh those ginger babies. My heart strings! I love Caroline’s swimsuit.
Oh, Evan at the edge is wonderful!
If we leaved near each other, we would even need to speak at all. We could just use HIMYM style mind chatter.
Adorable. :)
Too cute! I love the standing pictures. I can’t wait until summer when I can get my 8 month old into cute little bathing suits and see how much she loves the pool and the shore!
Too cute!
How precious! Does Caroline swim? If so, you must tell me your secrets! Elena LOVES the water but is intent of drowning herself in the bath tub so I am anxious about the pool. I am not sure how to teach “don’t fall face down into the water with your mouth open” to an 11 month old.
She can’t swim but we taught her to blow bubbles when her face goes in the water (in the tub) so she won’t try to swallow all the pool water. We also worked on the basics of kicking her arms and legs and floating, although she definitely can’t truly swim yet. And she isn’t afraid of the water AT ALL – which is actually terrible, since she will walk right off the edge/step into the pool even if no one is there to catch her. It means we have to have man-on-man defense when the kids are near the water, but that would be true at this age no matter what. I suspect when you get Elena into deep water she will be happy to cling to you and bob around, without attempting to perfect her butterfly stroke on her own.
I feel you on the man-on-man defense. Elena is FEARLESS. I would be happy if she would just not try to drown. I think she would cling onto me, but this is the same child that actively tries to swan dive while we hold her. I got a pool floaty thing to try. However, blowing bubbles sounds fantastic. This kid is so weird. She refuses to walk without holding on to things (beyond capable) but can snap. My 11 month your old snaps better than my mother? I am still trying to wrap my head around teaching her how to blow or suck. She currently bites straws, sippy cups, and mommy when hungry (we arent nursing now that I am pregnant).
Your little girl makes that swimsuit cute!
I cannot wait to take Sofia Marie into the pool however we are holding out a little longer to put her in chlorinated waters, then again she is only 8 months so another few won’t hurt.
