Week(101) in iPhone Photos

Monday, October 8th, 2012

So late, so sorry. I’m going to be taking over the linky for Amy since her world is a little crazy right now, so I promise to be a little more punctual in the future.

Sunday:

Family walk to church

FOUND IT! Too bad it’s not very good.

He’s very nonchalant about murdering animal crackers

Monday:

Morning parenting skills: LEVEL AWESOME

Afternoon parenting skills: LEVEL SEND HELP

Tuesday:

Whoa, what is this place??? (Walmart)

We took this stroller in the car for preschool drop off, even though we never got out of the car.

Caroline has a sleepover with her friends every night

Wednesday:

I should have just left them in the this cage, er, crib all day

She’s worried because of the sound of a rabid cat being murdered coming from the next room. It’s just her brother having a tantrum.

So peaceful. So unlike my life.

Thursday:

Asters, asters everywhere.

We had a playdate to pick up acorns. Then Caroline sat in her friend’s new carseat in the living room. Kids are weird.

Hey honey, you’ve got a little something right there. It looks like a growth.

Friday:

Really happy to be dropped off for school.

Pet stores – like having pets without any of the work!

My salad, right before I abandoned it and chased two naughty children out the door.

Saturday:

Bloggy friendz in mah state!!!

Really happy kids with $4 worth of yard sale toys

FOLIAGE, Y’ALL.

Today is a holiday even for the Navy so we’re going to do ALL THE FALL THINGS we didn’t get through this weekend – cider and chowdah and pumpkin picking and hayrides. The number of photos I’ve taken already verges on ridiculous, so I’m aiming for ludicrous by tomorrow night.

p.s. I am ALSO going to head over to my friend Jenna’s blog to enter her giveaway for the new Tinkerbell movie and some swag from Disney. My pixie child AND my 3 year old are totally obsessed with fairies and we’ve already seen The Great Fairy Rescue waaaaay too many times.

Link up with your camera photos – one day or ALL the days – below! You can put the code on your own blog so more people can join if you want, but please at least link back so people can find us if they want. I’m late this week but I’ll have this up by Saturday night in the future!

My Week(100) in iPhone Photos

Sunday, September 30th, 2012

This might have been one of the most fun weeks ever. Or maybe my memory is skewed by the super fun day we had on Saturday. Also, HOLY COW, I’ve been doing this for one hundred weeks. 700 days. That’s a lot of iPhoning.

Sunday:

Caroline thinks perhaps this is not a good idea.

Proud to be a big brother, especially when his sister’s napping and he doesn’t have to deal with her.

She thinks the fake doll juice is HILARIOUS.

Monday:

Adorable child is adorable.

When do they turn into drooling messes instead of tiny angels when they sleep?

Preschool open house reveals Mommy definitely picked a fancier family photo than any of the other moms.

Tuesday:

If the iPad app is educational, I don’t have to feel bad about sleeping in for 30 minutes, right?

I believe that is called “nom nom nomming”

My 3 year old is a monster.

Wednesday:

My children are so attractive.

Gymnastics prodigy

She’s NOT. EVEN. TWO. YET.

Thursday:

I think this is love, not attempted murder.

Big boy haircut was a mistake. (I WANT MY BAYBEEEE BACK)

No, SERIOUSLY, when do I start worrying my kids might murder someone?

Friday:

Picking up brother from school-face.

Shut up, the Tinkerbell movies are awesome.

Daddy cuddles in a tiny bed

Saturday:

Grand Central Station is Grand.

Chilling out at Playdate In The City

Hiding from the paparazzi at Whole Foods.

It turns out taking 2 kids into NYC is a little bit exhausting, so I spent all of Sunday recovering. Also, someone smashed in my car window to steal my crappy $120 GPS from the train parking lot in New Haven, so I had a teeny tiny little breakdown trying to figure out how to handle it (answer: fill out paperwork for lot attendant, brush glass off seat, drive home with the heat blasting). I’m hoping it doesn’t rain until I can get it fixed. But BESIDES that, the week was all super awesome, so it’s easy to feel very glass-half-full. They didn’t steal the car! Or the car seats! Or any of the other stuff! My kids are adorable and everyone agrees! I really love my life.

My Week(99) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, September 22nd, 2012

I took fewer pictures (200 compared to my usual 400) this week, especially when we were out and about. I don’t think that number will ever be zero – these posts are too important to me, since I can literally look back on every day of Caroline’s life so far – but I’m learning the difference between capturing a moment and capturing every second of the day.

Sunday:

The Magical Fort of Healing

The plan was to take beautiful family photos for a friend in front of this fountain. It was off and some sort of carnival was happening around it. Photo fail.

Getting a jump start on some holiday knitting

Monday:

But Mommy, how can Caroline take a nap without her dolly??????

Eyelashes McGee

Tuesday:

My son’s pedicure is in better shape than mine.

When you’re trying to keep a child quiet, you read them the same book every time they ask, even if you’re two seconds from losing your mind.

Bedtime snuggles

Wednesday:

Because doesn’t everyone carry a cow and an elephant around with them?

NOM NOM NOM ON YOUR FACE

Well sure, Mom, you almost lost your sanity making me that Tinkerbell dress but this old sheep outfit I found in the dress up box makes a MUCH better Halloween costume!

Thursday:

Mommy-Caroline time at the grocery store seems like a VACATION compared to bringing 2 kids.

Obviously taking the orders to keep quiet very seriously.

Beautiful night for an evening walk

Friday:

Yo, duck, sup?

DEAR GRANDMA AND GRANDPA, THANKS FOR THE GIANT COOKIES! LOVE, TWO EXTREMELY SUGARED UP CHILDREN

Ermagerd! Fresh Beat Band!

Saturday:

This game is called “Someone is going to end up in tears so KNOCK IT OFF”

Much better.

And this game is called “Let Mom think we’re being good so she’ll turn her back for 5 minutes”

We’re trying to have quiet time today (so far it’s at about a 30% success rate) with a nice nature walk this afternoon to celebrate the first day of fall and to find some pinecones (the internet LOVES pinecones). I’m also going to attempt to take a shower, if I can remember how. It’s been a while. It’s not pretty. Wish me luck.

My Week(98) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, September 15th, 2012

My week was going really well until Caroline’s accident on Friday. (In case you missed my Tweets/FB updates/Instagrams she fell at the playground and broke her collar bone.) It was pretty traumatic for all of us. It’s also put a damper on our fall plans, our playdate schedule and Caroline’s budding gymnastics career. Poor thing. So we’re taking things easy and cruising right through our Disney DVD collection.

Sunday:

He insisted my boots fit him just fine.

We made it to church! And it didn’t burn down or anything!

I love this stroller but it REALLY NEEDS A CUP HOLDER.

Monday:

MORNING toothbrushing? Whose children are these?

Lion fish are badass

Hi Beluga, I love you.

Tuesday:

Sewing helper! Tuesday was GET THIS DAMN COSTUME DONE Day.

Mostly done…

…THERE’S my magical pixie!!

Wednesday:

Color matching uneven bars foot bean bag toss – he rocked it.

BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY – Caroline

He transferred from a car nap to a couch nap that lasted 3 hours. I have NO IDEA why.

Thursday:

Easily distracted by things in the dirt

22 lb baby vs. 10 lb kettle bell. She is SO STRONG.

Scenic, tragic waterfall

Friday:

I took a picture to commemorate NOT wearing yoga pants.

That slide in the background is what she fell off the top of, 2 minutes after I took this photo.

Sponge Bob in the ER – I hate the damn show but it certainly kept Evan quiet for 2 hours.

Saturday:

The patient demanded a popsicle for breakfast, the patient gets a popsicle.

Tired from a day of doing…nothing.

Cheerful enough for a bath. Thank goodness, she was covered in popsicle.

So if you need me, I’ll be over here feeling like the world’s worst mom. Good times.

Did you take any camera phone photos this week? Link up with one or lots using the linky below and grab the code (so it shows on your blog too!) over at Amy’s . It’s really fun!

My Week(97) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, September 8th, 2012

I seriously don’t even REMEMBER the beginning of this week, it’s been so busy. Which is good, since I’m still solo-parenting these munchkins and the more I wear them out the easier bedtimes are. You will notice a distinct lack of couch naps in this week’s photos.

Sunday:

Those are my children, that is not our stroller.

Hockey Fans

Why don’t pirates eat peanut butter sandwiches? Because they can’t open the jAAAAAAARRRRRRGH!

Monday:

Adorable tunnel vision

Too much cute on one swing

Obsessed with Chuck the Truck

Tuesday:

She’s worried about falling behind now that Evan is in school, so she’s working on her math skills.

TOO MANY PICTURES, MOM.

Cart safety experts!

Wednesday:

Tiny gymnast

Practicing his balance beam skills in the real world

Gorgeous evening for a walk

Thursday:

Are you done Mom? School is way more exciting than you.

This Paleo thing makes grocery shopping interesting.

Modeling the latest knitting fashions during our yarn store playdate

Friday:

Visiting her friends at the duck pond. “HAI DUCKS! KACK KACK!”

My view of Friday’s playdate. I guess my kids are over there somewhere.

I’m pretty much useless these days.

Saturday:

Ferris Wheel stink eye

Skeptical of a guy holding a frog

I think it’s time to move the kitchen stool

And now it’s 8:15 on Saturday night, I’m in my jammies and eating cheese like it’s my job. We have ANOTHER full day tomorrow followed by a week of our new, busy lives and I sort of feel like I’m going to blink and it will be Christmas so I better start planning even MORE fall things to do but I’m pretty sure if I try I actually will keel over from exhaustion. True story: I fell asleep sitting up on the couch today and woke up to Evan shouting from the bathroom to come wipe his butt. Exciting days, y’all.
