My phone is broken. I dropped it face down in a parking lot while I was trying to take a picture of a giant sea gull on top of a tiny car. That’s a hilarious picture! The sea gull is so big and that car is so small! I MUST CAPTURE THIS FOR POSTERITY! I don’t even know why I dropped it, except that I drop it at least 5 times a day and until now it’s been totally fine. This time the screen shattered, although the phone was still usable.
Or at least, it WAS usable until we tried to fix it. I ordered a replacement screen on the internet but didn’t read the tutorials closely enough and got the wrong thing (Important note! The iPhone 4 screen is just the glass. The iPhone 4S screen is the glass + the LCD, even if just the glass is broken.) So E disassembled my iPhone – which, TERRIFYING – only to discover he couldn’t fix it. Plus also he broke something and needed to order another one of THOSE too so now all I have is one zillion minuscule screws and metal ribbon bits and circuit boards and stuff that might someday once again be an iPhone but probably not.
Moral of this story: GO TO THE FRIGGIN APPLE STORE IF YOU BREAK YOUR PHONE.
Result of this story: I don’t really have iPhone photos from this week. The photos from the first half of the week are trapped on a broken phone, the photos from the second half of the week don’t really exist except for a few I took with E’s phone and the iPad while I was still holding out hope that my phone would be fixed really fast and I’d barely miss it. I MISS IT SO MUCH. After more than 2,500 iPhone photos over the past 2+ years, I don’t have a week’s worth of photos. I am super, super bummed.
I am going to post some of the pictures I do have although they’re barely worth it – E’s phone is a 3G and the camera is crap. TOTAL CRAP. But having no pictures to remember this week (as unremarkable and full of colds as it was) seems sad. Hopefully next week I have my phone back. All my crossables are crossed that the piece that just came in the mail helps!
Wednesday:
Our library is decorated as the set of Mary Poppins? I think?
She’s helping me put away groceries by eating all the fruit snacks
Mystery bottle of scotch that appeared in my kitchen
Thursday:
Being obsessed with your phone starts early
I got a parking spot at the gym that wasn’t half a mile away! (No, really, I usually park half a mile from the building.)
She’s got the whooooole world, in her hands…
Friday:
MORE SNOW.
I call this: Portrait of A Child Who Wants To Go To The Playground But Can’t Because Winter Will NEVER END
Saturday:
They do this while I clean. We’re very exciting.
Mini pity-party alert: No one really does these anymore and no one links up since I took it over for Amy at A Good Life, so I’m not sure I’m going to bother with the linky. I’m not sure anyone reads them either, since Saturdays aren’t big blog-reading days and I don’t get comments on them, but I love looking back at old weeks and seeing what we did and how little the kids were so I’m going to keep posting them for myself. And my mom. Hi Mom!
(If you do a week-in-photos post, I would still love to see it so leave a link in the comments. I’m better about remember to visit sites that way then going back to look at the linky tool anyway.)
