What a good idea! Also? Those Ikea Bowls? Go ahead and stock up, and if you haven’t already, get the plates & cups (when he’s ready to graduate to a “big boy” cup they are pretty good for small hands). They are the best things ever.

We have the plates and matching silverware but we didn’t get any cups yet. We buy another pack of everything pretty much every time we go to Ikea.

lol We use cups of snow to entertain him. He makes messes on the floor and they both play. The food coloring is a great idea. =)

I LOVE that high chair – It’s a Chicco – but we have no room for it in our kitchen so it lives in the dining room. And because we’re lazy we never eat in the dining room so we almost never use it. But it looked FANTASTIC for his 1st birthday cake-smashing pictures and these shots today. I should totally use it more often.

Food coloring and snow from the back yard. Easiest 90 minutes of silence EVER.

Isn’t the lens FUN?! It’s so perfect for close up shots and food, the two things my other lens really sucked at. And it does that bokeh thing all on it’s own!

Isn’t it awesome? I mean, really. Good ole’ fashioned and CHEAP fun. It just came to me last night. Hey, let’s bring the snow INSIDE! Novel idea, no?

So glad he enjoyed it. Sounds like you did too. We’re doing it again today!

We do something kind of similar … to give the girls (7yo and 2yo) something different to do. Keep them occupied for an hour or so.

Except we just give ‘em a big bowl of snow and let ‘em go to town. Eat it, make little snowmen with it, have a snowball fight in your room … whatever, just go play! lol
