Fooooooood

I don’t always love living in Connecticut, but this weekend makes up for a lot of snow/traffic/taxes/incredibly high gas prices. Friday we walked down to the Greek Festival and had delicious gyros for lunch (and dinner). Saturday was supposed to be the Italian Fesitval but we missed it because of rain and because someone was too busy playing computer games to go at lunch. I was ready to kill E over calamari and clam chowder. He saved his own life by pointing out there was the Ledyard Fair AND the Taste of Mystic today, so finding seafood wouldn’t be hard. He was soooooo right. We watched the boats sail in and out of Mystic Harbor and enjoyed approximately our body weight in chowder, noodles, ice cream, milkshakes, french fries and meat-on-a-stick. It’s been two hours since we left and I’m trying to figure out how to convince E we need to go back for dinner. The lobster rolls aren’t going to eat themselves.

I couldn’t have planned this pregnancy any better when it comes to food. The fair, a whole weekend of festivals, and pretty soon Halloween candy and the holidays. I even get Valentine’s Day and Easter! Excuse me, I need to go rip out and burn all the pages in the baby books that involve nutrition and weight gain. And then find a snack.

  1. It’s so funny because my pregnant friend (who’s due this week!) spent her Saturday chowing down at the Greek Festival in her city. Must be something in the air.
