Easy Stocking Stuffer: Colgate Gift Pack #HolidaySmiles

Christmas shopping can be both really stressful and really exciting. Some people are impossible to shop for – my husband, for example, who asks for things like “A 10 day cruise to Hawaii” when all we can really afford is a dashboard hula dancer. Other people are fun to shop for – like my kids, who will be thrilled with ANYTHING new including the box it comes in. Luckily, when it comes to what I – I mean SANTA – put in the stockings we have decades of tradition to fall back on.

Since I was a kid, this is what comes in our stocking:
– Socks/tights/pantyhose (back when those were still a thing)
– Underwear
– Chapstick
– A new toothbrush
– Candy
– An apple
– An orange (very Laura Ingalls of us)
– Other small, practical essentials like film (remember that stuff?) or batteries

My husband’s traditional stocking contained:
– Pistachios
– Peanuts
– A banana
– A pear
– An orange (he grew up with Little House fans too)
– A new ornament for the tree

Now that I play Santa, I’ve combined the two lists so everyone gets what they need most, like most and won’t choke on. Then we have fruit and nuts (and chocolate) for breakfast before opening presents.

Did you catch the part where I said we got a new toothbrush? When I learned that Colgate was selling special children’s holiday packs I knew that was EXACTLY what Evan and Caroline needed in their stockings.

Even better news: they come with Dora or Sponge Bob on them. Since we’re not quite at the Sponge Bob stage yet (can I get an AMEN?) I opted for 2 Doras and was really pleased they had a green Dora options instead of just pink ones.

We recently had a very successful no-cavity dentist visit and I’d like to keep it that way, so anything that gets the kids exciting about brushing gets a gold star in my book.

The gift pack is the perfect size for a stocking stuffer and available now at Walmart! Dora says “Hola! Come buy me!” You can learn more about Colgate on their website or by following them on Twitter or Facebook.

I love practical stockings and they still can be fun. Pretty soon they will be old enough for school supply filled stockings, my personal favorite.

These are great stocking stuffers – practical but I bet the kids will love them. I like the idea of an ornament as a stocking stuffer too.

  6. I love how you are carrying on the tradition! My kids love getting battery operated toothbrushes so I need to be sure to pick some of these up for them!
