The Jeopardy theme songs won't stop playing in my head

I’ll take Children Who Will Have Their Reluctance to be Born Held Over Their Heads for the Rest of Their Lives for $400 Alex!

Mom and I went to the outlet malls down in Clinton today, just so I had somewhere interesting to walk around. The walking makes my contractions stronger but they’re still not stop-and-catch-my-breath painful. But at this point I’ve been in early/practice/pre/whatever you want to call it labor for three days and I AM NOT HAVING FUN ANYMORE.

After buying about a dozen tiny, adorable, totally unnecessary newborn outfits (including BABY MADRAS SHORTS) at the OshKosh store, we went into the J. Crew outlet…where I ran into my midwife. The one from my hospital, the hospital next to my house. It’s like the universe is totally mocking me – “Ahahaha just try to stop thinking about being pregnant! Pretend the waiting isn’t driving you insane and I’ll send you a sign that you CANNOT ESCAPE”. I was hoping the surprise would send me into labor right there next to the pink pants embroidered with tiny green whales – but no such luck. It’s looking more and more like I’ll make it to my induction on Wednesday.

Just in case the spicy food thing works, dinner tonight is Tabasco with a side of chicken fingers. Tomorrow it’s Tabasco with a side of Tabasco.

oh my god! I was totally at the Clinton Outlets today too! (live in southern CT) I didn’t see an extremely pregnant woman though ;) good luck with the spicy food, and the eventual labor when you get there!

That little fucker on the counter is SO SMUG. I want to slug him in his joyous, stubborn little face.

I think you’ll have the baby before you have to get induced. And if you ever wanted to take something to speed things along, I wouldn’t blame you. I also wouldn’t blame you for resisting, but you must be exhausted. Do what you feel is best, and you’ll be fine regardless. Enjoy the Tabasco sauce.

If I were baby E, I’d be SCARED to be born next to the pink pants with whales, and would be holding on for dear life to stay in.

I’m amending my guess to Tuesday night. He’s just waiting for the last possible moment, to drive his punctual parents insane from the very start. Get used to it mama!

    ***BABY UPDATE***

Suzanne was 3.5 cm dialated as of 8:30 this morning. She had to put her phone away so I’m not sure we’ll hear until the baby is born unless her progress slows drastically. But it looks like it’s baby time!

  9. funnyface says:

Thanks for the update, Other Erin!! Yay baby time!

  11. Hooray!! Thanks for the update, Erin! Apparently the pink pants with whales did the trick. Or maybe he’s excited to rock those madras shorts.

Prayers, thoughts, and wishes are being sent north for a labor that is all rainbows and unicorns and pain-free!

  12. lalaland13 says:

“Baby Evan is here! 7:21pm 7lbs 12oz. I only had to push 5 times and it doesn’t hurt at all,. Seriously, guys that was almost too easy. We are all resting. Thanks so much for all your love. xoxo.”

  15. sarrible says:

Yeah, she’s still drunk on her epidural.

    But I’m so happy! YAY!

  16. lalaland13 says:
