Two cat pictures in one week?! Crazy cat lady alert!

We’re going into week 2 of E’s crazy work schedule and so far I’m doing pretty well. The major reason I’m not freaking out is a spot opened up at Evan’s school for Caroline, so as long as I can get the immunization record from the doctor on Monday afternoon she starts school on Tuesday morning! My plan is to burn rubber out of the parking lot cackling maniacally and head for the gym on base, where I get 2 full child-free hours to take a class or restart C25K on a treadmill or just screw around on the elliptical trainer. Preschool isn’t cheap, but neither is a mental breakdown.

Also, I’m finishing up a few giveaway posts I’ve got in my queue, so if you like free stuff this will be a good month to be a blog reader. If you don’t like free stuff, come back on Wednesdays for nothing but cute ginger pictures.

My Week(111) in iPhone Photos

Sunday, December 16th, 2012

Thank you for your texts, phone calls and tweets friends. We’re in the other half of the state from the shooting so we are all OK. A friend on Facebook reposted a status update from a relative who lives in Newtown, Connecticut today, thanking everyone for their thoughts and prayers but asking that we stop tuning in to the 24/7 news coverage so the media will leave them alone. I couldn’t agree more. I have no words for what happened and my children are too young (thank God) to be aware of what’s happened, so I’m trying to prevent it from affecting them by tuning out. Caroline’s birthday party was on Saturday and I am so, so thankful her 2-year-old world is untouched.

Sunday:

sunday1

Party prep

sunday2

Awesome parenting 101: don’t be afraid to use your sleeping daughter as a mouse pad.

sunday3

Mr. Sparkles McBear

Monday:

monday1

Stretches during Stroller Strides

monday2

Because obviously you need a helicopter when you go shopping.

monday3

I have no idea why I owned so many creepy dolls as a child

Tuesday:

tuesday1

I woke up to silence & found them like this in Caroline’s room.

tuesday2

Buying Mormor a Christmas present in Mystic

tuesday3

Sharing hugs and a calculator

Wednesday:

wednesday2

Caroline demanded the huge car cart then refused to ride in in. Oh, 2 year olds.

wednesday1

Apparently they think the grocery store is really cold?

wednesday3

Part prep #2

Thursday:

thursday1

Solo grocery shopping with a peppermint mocha = dream come true.

thursday3

We’ve never been in this toy store before. We will DEFINITELY be going back.

thursday2

I kind of want a monkey riding a bicycle for my front yard.

Friday:

friday1

Up before the sun, but at least he has a cat to keep him warm.

friday2

Bumpa made a joke about putting the children to work. The children insisted on following through. Note the jammies under her coat and boots. Note to Bumpa: Toddlers don’t understand sarcasm.

friday3

The last photo I took on Friday was at preschool drop off. The rest of the day I checked out of my phone.

Saturday:

saturday2

Checking out the candy selection on the Frost Your Own Tree table

saturday1

Someone please come over and help me eat leftovers.

saturday3

A bathtub tea party requires your best necklace

For the rest of the day we’re going to eat leftover cookies and cuddle on the couch and watch Disney and play anything the kids want to without complaining. Actually, that’s pretty much the plan for every day for the rest of the year. We’re boring, but at least we are together.

My Week(107) in iPhone Photos

Saturday, November 17th, 2012

This morning Caroline was doing push ups – incline push ups, with her feet on the couch and her hands on the floor – and I realized I had been sitting down for like 4 hours straight. So I had a cup of coffee, pounded this out and then went to do something productive. Nothing like an exercising 1 year old to make you feel like a lazy ass.

Sunday:

The kids built steps to reach the clementines. Evil geniuses.

“Mommy, why don’t we have ponies???” “Because your father isn’t Mitt Romney, honey.”

Painting the dining room seemed like such a good idea at the time.

Monday:

Sorry, can’t get up, it would disturb the cat.

We went to terrorize, uh, visit my friend Megan’s yarn store.

I love you, iPhone panoramic thingy.

Tuesday:

When you clean out the toy box, you discover toys you forgot about and it’s like getting NEW TOYS (p.s. My aunt made me that dress when I was a baby)

I got the box closes and we haven’t opened it since. TRUE STORY.

Pretty much how I feel every night by 8 pm.

Wednesday:

Caroline chose to sit on the bench with her blankie instead of doing gymnastics for the first half of class. Then she remembered OH YEAH I LOVE GYMNASTICS.

SUPER GOOD BRAVE BOY at the dentist

Clean teeth make you very tired.

Thursday:

Hmmm…do I look 8 years old today? Yes, I think I do.

What do you mean I can’t do pull ups on the stroller???? I hate you you’re ruining my life!

Cat nap (sorry Instagram friends, I just love this one)

Friday:

Trying to climb into the house

The only time we saw Daddy all week…and he’s leaving for work.

My Friday nights are very exciting.

Saturday:

Insisted on getting up at 6:30 am, only to climb into her brother’s bed and insist it was time to go to sleep. That face says “I DARE YOU TO DISAGREE”

3rd batch of scones in 2 days. Recipe on Tuesday.

Oops?

I can’t believe this week is Thanksgiving already – it’s so early this year! – but I love that I get to enjoy our Christmas decorations for a while longer. I’m crossing all my crossibles that E gets out of shift work in time to help us pick out a tree on Friday (FRIDAY!!!!) and I can’t wait to put up our combination Caroline’s party/holiday stuff. Winter sparkle snowflake woodland fairies FOREVA.

Did you take iPhone photos of your week? Link up with one or several below! I’ve been doing this for more than 2 years now, and I’m a little sad it seems to be dying out now that Amy handed the linky off to me. So PLEASE please consider joining, even if you haven’t done it before. I’ll be around to read everyone’s posts and comment.

My Week(93) in iPhone Photos

Sunday, August 12th, 2012

I can’t believe a week ago I was in NYC. Not that this week was busy – it was, in fact, the laziest I have ever been since having children – but it feels like a million years since I was hugging my people. At least this week ended with one of my peoples coming to visit!

Sunday:

BEBEH FEVAH

Just hanging out here, 50 feet over the river on a train with the door open. NBD.

Epic puzzle ball is epic

Monday:

I told them we were going to go through the toy box and give away the toys they don’t play with anymore. Their reaction was to sit on it.

So I did it while they were sleeping. One giant bag of trash, one medium bag for Goodwill, two bags of baby toys put away until I have a baby again.

Tuesday:

Somehow, a cool fisheye lens makes my dirty house look less awful

I took this picture right before I fell asleep on the couch too

Yes, that looks safe.

Wednesday:

Love is patient (with the baby), love is kind (to the kitty)

At the aquarium, er…I mean the grocery store. Whatevs, he likes the lobsters.

Caroline takes sleeping very seriously

Thursday:

I don’t even know

What do you mean “poor choices”, Mom?

Fish-eye bathtime

Friday:

This is why I never say “no” to her. THAT FACE.

Sometimes we play NEXT to our friends

And sometimes we share a stool with them

Saturday:

Snack break at Hasbro’s Big Back Yard

Aoudads are like mountain goats – good climbers. Very similar to toddlers.

Caroline and JD check out the penguins while Kim and I die of cuteness

Did you take any camera phone photos this week? Link up with one or lots using the linky below and grab the code (so it shows on your blog too!) over at Amy’s . It’s really fun!

Happy Friday!

Friday, May 25th, 2012

I have a very busy and exciting weekend planned – right after I get my upstairs bathroom cleaned for my house guest because YIKES – so today I leave you with vintage video of 8 month old Baby Evan (remember when he was Baby Evan? Awwwww!).

And before you call me a bad person for letting him torture the cat like that, remember she has four perfectly good and working legs and could WALK AWAY at any point. Maybe I should have taught her about wise choices.
