My Week(183) in iPhone Photos

Monday, May 5th, 2014

I have almost totally completely recovered from the Mom 2.0 Summit in Atlanta this weekend. The combination of standing/walking/dancing/flying made me swell up like a bullfrog and I was worried I might have overdone it, but things seem to be getting back to normal. But definitely no more travel for me until I have an outside baby.

Sunday:

sunday1

Furniture in an orchard. What, that’s not how you spend your weekends?

sunday2

Evan is “helping” her read a book. This definitely didn’t end well.

sunday3

saturday3

My amazing, beautiful roommate Miranda who I miss so much already

I’ll write an actual conference post later (that will probably be mostly photos, duh) but it was an amazing experience. I had literally zero negative interactions with people – even people I would consider Kind Of A Big Deal on the internets – and loved every conversation I had. Even though right now the logistics of going next year (not knowing where we might be stationed, having a 10 month old) are overwhelming I already bought a ticket.

Now I am back to real life where I am responsible for butt-wiping and laundry and a severe lack of fried green tomatoes. But cuddling with the ginger babies makes me super glad to be back to life (back to reality).

I have a pain in my right side that I don’t THINK is an internal organ exploding, but if it could be. What I’m saying is, if you don’t see me on Facebook or Instagram at all tomorrow, maybe text me?

Fall in a cookie – pumpkin, hazelnut spread, butterscotch chips. Unfortunately I don’t really like butterscotch and E doesn’t like pumpkin, so we can’t tell if these are actually delicious.

I secretly just want to sleep all day tomorrow, but we’re doing more fun stuff instead. Maybe I can sleep all day on the second of never. I’ve got a date with the elliptical trainer on Tuesday and that’s almost as good as napping. Especially because of the massage bed afterwards.

Last week of summer, first week of school! Except I just realized today Labor Day means no school for anyone tomorrow, so we can fit in one more beach/fun day before we start a regular schedule.

I’m so excited Evan likes school, the bus situation seems to be working out, and that when Caroline starts school on Tuesday I will be able to get back to a regular schedule for me too. I loved going to the gym last year, but totally failed during the summer. I need to get exercise back on my list of priorities, if only because I have to be in better shape to work as a photographer. Taking newborn photos is like doing 200 squats. I’m going to have buns of steel if people keep hiring me.

It’s 9 pm Monday night, which means the long weekend is officially over. E actually got 2 full days off and we fit in as much fun as possible – TWO parades on Monday! I also took pictures for two different friends and I’m buckling down to get my editing done. I’m actually HOPING for rain at least one day this week so I don’t feel bad keeping the kids inside. I’ll make up for it with a beach or two when it hits 85 later in the week.
