Baby can always get a job making chocolate

I read somewhere that vitamin C helps prevent stretch marks, so I decided to up my intake. I’ve started drinking lots of orange juice and eating lots of carrots (those have vitamin C, right?). My baby might come out the color of a Oompa Loompa but at least I’ll get back in my bikini some day.

Also, my fingernails and eyelashes are suddenly ridiculously long. It’s nice to have at least two parts of my body cooperating.

Broccoli is actually one of the best sources of vitamin C. More than oranges. And red peppers have loads of it. But carrots are probably going to be easier to find in Connecticut in winter.

The reason it helps is that vitamin C is crucial to building collagen, and you get stretch marks (and wrinkles) when the collagen in your skin breaks down due to internal or environmental stress. There’s probably some (stupidly expensive) topical stuff you can find with vitamin C in it, but it might work better from the inside.

God, my job fills me with idiotic knowledge. Plz. Send help.

I wonder if it might be better to rub the vitamin C on the skin rather than eating it, for a more direct effect on the skin? I use this Night Treatment from the Body Shop that has Vitamin C in it (on my face). Sarrible is right, it’s pricey at $22 for a teeny bottle, but I’m thinking that I’ve seen cheaper versions at Whole Foods? I always heard coco butter was good for preventing stretch marks as well.

I would now like for you to name your baby Violet or…who was that other girl? Vercua! Was that it?

Veruca. As long as it’s not Augustus…
