Her faces are so cute and funny! The pictures look awesome! What camera/lens do you have? I just ordered my new lens and I cannot WAIT to get it!

It’s a Nikon D90, and these were just with the lens it comes with. But I can’t wait to practice with my 50mm – I’ve been using it on auto to take outside shots and they’re gorgeous, so once I get the hang of it they’ll be awesome!

stopping by from the paper mama.

That third one needs to become an internet meme immediately. “Baby Caroline strongly disapproves of your actions.”

  9. Love her faces!! I’ve GOT to buck up and start using mine in manual. It scares me a little bit.

I’ve owned my camera for more than a year now and have NEVER taken photos on manual. I bought a book called Understanding Exposure and am on page 14 and already know a ZILLION times more than before. I discovered the problem wasn’t that I didn’t understand all the aspects of taking a manual photo – I just didn’t know how to get my camera to HELP ME. You can totally learn how too!

OH my gosh, those are GREAT photos. The expressions, the tones and colors, they are fabulous. Magazine worthy!

  11. YAY for manual mode! Great job and very cute pictures!!

Yay for manual! And yay for cute pictures! They are all lovely, I love the three different facial expressions–I’m obsessed with photo series of different facial expressions. You should see my gallery, they are full of them. I think it’s an interesting way to capture all of the weird faces these kids make.

  14. Kimberly says:

wow. They look like they belong in an Evan Kafka (the guy who takes all the funny Huggies ad pics) book! She has the most expressive little face! Keep em coming! :)

    I WANT TO SNUGGLE IT

  16. Denae says:

IMHO its all in the f-stop. If you can get the f-stop right, the pictures will always come out great. I love seeing Caroline’s other faces. The 2nd is my fav. <3

Oh, gosh, she is a doll. I love her little face. I’ve been playing around with my camera also… the internet is a great teacher! I made a promise to myself (dork?) (loser?) (both?) that I would not use my camera in automatic EVER. This has forced me to figure things out by basically pressing all the buttons at once and hoping for the best. I mean, that’s what toddlers do all the time and they figure stuff out in five seconds… stuff that would take my mom three weeks to learn. The bad thing is that if I take a great photo and I want to do it again later, I don’t know what to press. Anyway. Love these!
