With A Baby Model This Cute, How Could I Say No?

This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias. I purchased the clothes in this post with my own cash money and all opinions are my own. #CBias #MyHartstrings

Sometimes, when sponsored post opportunities come up, I think “Man, I could REALLY use the money but how am I going to make a review of Jim Bob’s EZ Do-It-Yur-Self Oil Change Kit and Coon Huntin’ Game fit in with the rest of my writing?” So I turn it down.

And other times, people ask if I want to shop for adorable baby clothes, take pictures of my kid, and then get paid for it. This blogging thing really isn’t so bad, you know?

Caroline actually already has a few Hartstrings items in her closet – the outfit in this post (sidebar OMG TINY CHUBBY BEBEH ALERT) for example – that were gifts but I had never shopped the website before. Now I may be in trouble. Their normal prices are definitely on the “special occasion outfit” level but if you keep your eye on the sale section it’s not hard to snag a fantastic deal. Or two. Or three, which is what I got.

And even better news for me, according to their Twitter they’re opening a new store at the outlet mall just down the highway.  Maybe the store will have this in Caroline’s size, since the website didn’t:

Giraffe!!

And it took a LOT of willpower for me not to buy these shoes. A LOT. I totally want them in my size:

They sell girls clothes, boys clothes (soon to be re-launched under the name Kitestrings), baby clothes and the most gorgeous christening gowns ever. The baby clothes are adorabley baby-like – lots of pastels and cute animals – and the kid clothes are both good looking and extremely functional – all three dresses I ordered are machine washable, because you know there is NO WAY I am going to handwash my kid’s play clothes. For serious, if I can’t throw it in the laundry it will never, ever get worn by my messy, messy children. But that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate stylish, good quality clothing.

What I bought: Infant Sweater Dress, Infant Geometric Print Jumper, Infant Red Floral Corduroy Dress

I ordered the sweater dress in the 12 month size and it fits Caroline perfectly right now. She’s smallish for 14 months, but I went by their size chart and it was exactly accurate. The other two I ordered in the 18 month size – I figured the sleeveless dress would be good for summer even if it’s a little big and the red corduroy dress will fit by fall. Truly, all three outfits could be worn spring/fall/winter in Connecticut so I’m guessing you’ll be seeing a LOT of them in my pictures. I can’t say I’m surprised the quality is so high – you get what you pay for with baby clothes – but these are definitely the kind of hand-me-downs people are going to squee over when you pass on.

I got my package from Heartstrings yesterday morning. They came well protected and still on their hangers.

Caroline was very excited to check things out

Since she had ruined her morning outfit with blueberries anyway, I was happy to let her change

Matching bloomers are one of the serious benefits of girl's baby clothes

Attempting to dress herself

Speaking of things I wish came in my size, I’m totally jealous of this sweater dress. Caroline looked so cute and stylish with no effort at all.

She's kind of obsessed with the red dress

We had to run out to an appointment right after I got her dressed, and all it took to make her leave-the-house ready was tights and boots. Me, I was wearing the same faded yoga pants as yesterday and a hoodie. But my girl? ADORABLE.

I just love her face so much. You can follow Hartstrings on Twitter and Facebook to stay up to date on their sales and if you sign up for their newsletter you’ll get coupons sent to your email. Thank you to Hartstrings for the opportunity!

I love Hartstrings too and have been coveting this sweater dress for months at The Blue Horse. It is gorgeous!! I kind of wish you hadn’t told me they are opening an outlet!

That clothing is adorable, but the sizes on the chart are so tiny! My 14-month old is big, but by no means the biggest I know (she has a friend the same age who is almost 5 pounds heavier than her) but even their 24-month size would barely fit her, and definitely not for long.

gosh she’s cute. sweater dress FTW!

  5. Emily says:

Wow, they even have cute things for boys! That’s a miracle! And the sale prices are closer to my budget (OK, pushing it a bit… but for something that cute?). All these cute pictures of Caroline are sounding my “have a 2nd baby and pray it’s a girl” internal alarm!

Train up a child in the way she should go and when she is old she will not depart from it! (HAha…just kidding)

That middle dress is going to make her look like a tiny, irrepressible Mary Richards. She’s gonna make it…you know.

  10. Brandi says:

I don’t know what’s cuter, the clothes or the baby? Okay, it’s the baby, hands down! The dresses are adorable, too!

  11. She is so cute! I have a red haired baby boy (19 months)!
